Driving on the Outer Loop of Interstate 495, also known as the Washington, DC Beltway, in Fairfax County, Virginia, USA. Interstate 495 is a massive, at least 8 lane (4 lanes each way), freeway that forms a loop around the U.S. National Capital City of Washington, DC, with sections in the U.S. states of Maryland, and Virginia (pictured here). It is notorious for its extremely high volumes of traffic, as is well illustrated by this picture. Fairfax County, Virginia is the most populated county in the U.S. state of Virginia, as well as in the entire Washington, DC-Baltimore metropolitan area, with about 1.1 million people, and is growing relatively fast in population. This photo was taken on Thursday, December 6, 2012, on the way to the Washington DC Dulles International Airport to pick up my grandmother from from her month-long thanksgiving vacation in her native Puerto Rico.

uns barris que cal visitar, per conèixer l'entorn, la seva gent, les seves particularitats, la seva fesomia, i la seva relació amb la ciutat de la que formen part.

"outer Barcelona" is a small essential project. Barcelona city, summer, orders of tourists getting up and down of tourist buses. Blue line, or red one?
beyond these visitors, beyond the Barcelona only they view, there is a real Barcelona made of neighborhoods.
neighborhoods that must be visited to learn about the sorroundings, its people, its peculiarities, its appearance and its relationship with the city that are part of.
I leave here one of many districts of barcelona, that make barcelona the city it is, although barcelona lives back of its neighborhoods.

Jockey Ridge State Park.
Formed by processes of erosion and deposition, the Outer Banks (technically extending from far southeastern Virginia all the way to North Carolina) are a sight to behold. Since moving to Virginia I've made multiple trips down to the Outer Banks and have been both amazed at their beauty and dismayed at the level of development occurring on such a fragile and vulnerable ecosystem. The Outer Banks are one the stormiest part of the east coast (second only to Florida) and yet you will find giant vacation homes built right up to the edge of the sea.
I was itching to find out what the Outer Banks look like without development, and the dunes of Jockey Ridge State Park, though small, is a shining example of the beauty of the Outer Banks.
Most temples have an inner courtyard and an outer courtyard which are arranged with the inner courtyard furthest kaja. These spaces serve as performance venues since most Balinese rituals are accompanied by any combination of music, dance and drama. The performances that take place in the inner courtyard are classified as wali, the most sacred rituals which are offerings exclusively for the gods, while the outer courtyard is where bebali ceremonies are held, which are intended for gods and people. Lastly, performances meant solely for the entertainment of humans take place outside the walls of the temple and are called bali-balihan. This three-tiered system of classification was standardized in 1971 by a committee of Balinese officials and artists in order to better protect the sanctity of the oldest and most sacred Balinese rituals from being performed for a paying audience.
