We are working with partners to ensure our communities feel safe in the places they call home.
After speaking with residents, we identified several properties that were linked to anti-social behaviour and criminal activity in the Freehold neighbourhood.
On Friday 5 July, we secured closure orders for two properties. The order will last for 3 months.
Inspector Meena Yasin from GMP Rochdale said: “We have spoken to residents who have been unable to sleep at night, who are scared to carry out everyday activities within their own homes as a result of anti-social behaviour and the criminal activity of a small number of individuals exploiting the neighbourhood.
"Securing these closure orders is a really important step in creating positive change in the area, and we have been working closely with local residents and RBH to proactively tackle issues linked to these properties.
“We will always take action and work with our partner agencies to ensure those who engage in anti-social or nuisance behaviour are dealt with robustly and I would like to thank everyone who has opened their door and welcomed us into their houses, taken the time to speak to us, and contributed to our intelligence picture which has led to these results.
“There is palpable community spirit in this area, created by residents who have lived here for decades. We are working with them to rid the area of criminality.”

Sybil is on a date with Hallam at a fine restaurant. They are sitting in a quiet corner waiting for their orders...
Sybil (takes a nervous look at the other customers and turns to look at Hallam): “Am I underdressed?”
Hallam: “What? Why do you ask?”
Sybil: “I just get the feeling… Everyone is so nicely dressed here. (lowers her voice) I’m sure the waitress who took our orders cringed at the sight of me. I should have worn an evening gown, or at least a cocktail dress. Gosh! I don’t even have a necklace! I should have bought…”
Hallam (interrupting): “No! You look fine just as you are. Trust me.” (smiles at her warmly)
Sybil (rolls eyes in disbelief): “Well, I hope that the food will taste as delicious as it looked on the menu…”
Hallam (surprised): “Are you kidding me? Troll’s Appetite is the town’s oldest and finest restaurant. There is nothing you won’t find absolutely delicious in this place. (smirks at Sybil) You have never eaten here before?”
Sybil (embarrassed): “As funny as it may sound like… no, I haven’t. I’ve lived here for less than four years. And I don’t really do restaurants.”
Hallam (laughingly): “Everybody does restaurants! So, where do you eat?”
Sybil: “I like to do my own cooking. When I’m out in town I usually eat at Honey’s café. That’s my favorite place. They don’t just serve cakes there, you know. And I travel a lot due to work. I eat wherever… (looks around in the room) in cheaper places.”
Hallam (smiles at her warmly): “Well, the culinary skills of the chef are amazing. You’re about to find out. So, you’ve been living here for almost four years… Where did you live before? I mean, I know you were in Memphis for quite some time… What about after?”
This Fairfax County Park Authority historical marker is at Ox Hill Battlefield Park neat the intersection of West Ox Road and Monument Drive. The marker reads:
"While General Stevens' division attacked the Confederates on this side of Ox Road, part of General Jesse Reno's division entered the woods east of the road to protect Stevens' flank and probe the Confederate line. Reno's two leading regiments received vague orders to "find the enemy."
Just before 5 p.m., the 21st Massachusetts stumbled through the darkened woods, their line of battle broken by fallen trees and underbrush. As the thunderstorm erupted, the regiment halted to reform their lines. There was some firing off to their right and a body of troops in dark uniforms stood 25 yards ahead, barely visible.
Some of the men exclaimed, "Those are rebels!" while some thought otherwise. According to Captain Charles Walcott: "While most of our poor fellows stood with their guns at the shoulder, one of the deadliest volleys ever fired rolled upon us from our right and front?the whole regiment seemed to be lying bleeding on the ground?nearly a hundred of our men, dead and wounded, lay there with their officers."
The Confederates who delivered the fatal volley were probably on the left of Trimble's brigade of Georgia, North Carolina and Alabama troops, though some shots may have come from Stafford's Louisiana brigade.
Farther east, near today's Fair Oaks Mall, the 51st New York encountered part of Starke's division, probably the Stonewall Brigade, but suffered only minor losses. The 2nd Maryland and 48th Pennsylvania remained in reserve near the unfinished railroad.
Two of Reno's regiments, the 6th New Hampshire and 51st Pennsylvania, joined the fight west of Ox Road and supported Stevens' division."

More than 350 children and their families attended the 2012 Teddy Bear Hospital on Saturday, June 9, at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo. Through this annual event, children can experience an emergency department without the fear that can accompany a real emergency. Children bring their stuffed animals, teddy bears or dolls to the Teddy Bear Hospital to be cared for by doctors, nurses and other hospital staff members.

Orders of chivalry
All these orders were made in London and worn by kings of England. They belonged to Sir Herbert Taylor. the private secretary of George IV. There is Georges III's Order of the Garter star, George IV's star, collar and badge of the Royal Guelphic Order, and William IV's Order of the Bath star. Royal jewellers, Rundell, Bridge and Rundell, supplied the Guelphic Order insignia. Made of gold, silver, steel and enamel, its workmanship is exceptionally fine.
