Painted on a side of a convenience store at Blair and Destrehan in the Hyde Park neighborhood. There was a video game named Zarzon that was the only video game in the neighborhood. I got 8 stitches breaking my hand thru a plate glass window (by accident!) running out of school to play the game in this store (1981).

LOGAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan -- Task Force Knighthawk Commander Lt. Col. Lars Wendt of Watertown, N.Y. and Maj. Bob Blackstock, also of Watertown, stand at attention while the orders are read by Capt. Mercedes Branch for Maj. Blackstock's end of tour award. Maj. Blackstock is a reservist completing a 6-month active tour of duty as the TF surgeon. Maj. Blackstock received an Army commendation medal for his contributions and service during his tour.
Christchurch Priory, Dorset, UK
The Saxon Minster was dismantled and the present Priory church began by Ranulf Flambard in 1094 under the orders of King William II. Whilst built in the Norman style, some of the original Saxon influences are visible in the nave and transepts. The Great Quire clerestory, aisle outer walls and the Lady Chapel behind the high altar are examples of the later English Perpendicular style.
The nave is separated from the Great Quire by a stone rood screen, but not to the full height. This allows the top of the high altar screen, the reredos, to be visible to the congregation and highly illuminated by the tall windows to assist the theatrical mystery played out by the clerical illusion masters.
The monks that lived here used the Great Quire for their daily worship, and the carved wooden bum rests called misericords allowed them to remain standing yet avoid collapse of the legs during the lengthy chanting and singing sessions.
The monastery was demolished on order of King Henry VIII around 1539 and the present building was spared to become a parish church.
This detail from the reredos screen behind the high altar, created in 1360, depicts Jesse, the father of Hebrew King David, and the birth scene of Jesus of Nazareth, illustrating the prophesy in the Bible book of Isaiah that the descendent of Jesse will be the longed for saviour.

Built in 1832, Gainsborough's Half Moon has sadly been closed for some years now, and is rapidly falling towards dereliction. In the early 1990s it was a thriving pub, but was sold to a management company who ran it into the ground. I doubt very much that anyone will ever sell a pint of beer again from the 'Moon.
