My Orbis arrive today and this is my first shoot with it, and I am loving it.

Oscar Is a film student, he loves a good movie. Also he has done some short movies.

I want to take photos lately but am lacking models. So I stand in every now and again. I would like to reshoot this with someone else.

My father, taken in the nursing home where he now lives (he suffers with Alzheimer's). Before his Alzhiemer's he hated having his photo taken, I think I have more shots of the palm of his hand as he'd block his face or cover the lens than I do of him proper.

Shot using the daylight from the East facing window, topped off with some fill-in from my flash using an Orbis ring flash.

Pictures from Oi Hår og Velvære and Heads Up Hårsalong and their hair-fashion show at Radisson Blue Royal Garden Hotel in November 2011.

This picture is from the portrait-series I did of all the models right before they entered the catwalk. It is shot with a Nikon D700, Nikon 35mm f/2.0D, Nikon SB-900 and an Orbis Ring Flash with its arm extender.

#34 / 52 Faces of 2010

Did a quick portrait of my nephew testing out a new set of barndoors that fit speedlights.

Strobist: Nikon SB-800 camera right with barndoors, Nikon SB-800 with a red gel on the background (both triggered via CLS), Nikon SB-800 with an Orbis Ring Flash for fill about 2 stops down from the key, attached via SC-28 chord and used as the master

Got my Orbis today. Eager to test it out I shot the cat. Then I tried on myself. Flash on stand with Orbis on top. Camera on tripod behind.

Shot at 17mm, focused on my hand.

My face was around 20-30cm from the ring and I see there's a pretty hard light falloff at this close distance. Just look at my cheek (as my head was leaned a bit forward).

My hair looks black (its not).

Im not shaved or anything so spare your comments about my looks. Its not a beautyshot :p

I fixed the reflections in my eyes. As seen before the Orbis does not reproduce a perfect ring so I used the brush tool a bit and painted the little hump on the bottom as well as filled in the weak white on the top of the ring.

Oh yes, the pic is not that sharp. Im not used to shoot myself :P

Well, this was just a test. Im gonna shoot more later today and in the weekend so look up for more!

Santa brought an Orbis Ring Flash adapter - it's amazing. Jesse volunteered like last year when I got a softlighter.

thursday was a sad day for me. Fuji S1 Pro was finally caput. What happend was the mirror got stuck at "up" position and the shutter won't go. To make matter's worst there was gonna be a shoot in 3mins. good thing I bought my Olympus cameras. Instead having the Fuj fixed, (it wud probably cost me $150) I ordered a new one...which cost me $140. So I'll meet the new Fuj hopefully by next week. I'll try to fix old fuj until i figure out whats wrong with it.

11/17/09 well i fixed the camera..now I'll end up with two of these

libby needed fresh portfolio pics so perfect excuse to try out new orbis ringflash
