Went to the eye doctor today. My eyes have been bad since I was a kid and have progressively gotten worse, but luckily the past 2 or 3 years I've gone they've stayed the same.
I also picked out new frames for the first time since like MIDDLE SCHOOL! Those will be here in 2 weeks.
And I also got my flu shots.
What a health oriented day!

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Hussey, 18th Medical Group Public Health technician, Kadena Air Base, Japan, teaches food safety during a three day subject matter expert exchange at Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam, March 26, 2015. The annual regional humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operation is part of Operation Pacific Angel 15-3 and provided general health, dental, optometry, pediatrics, and engineering programs to the local people, which helped to foster host nation and multilateral partnership.
My optometrist wanted to do a retina check, so she put in a few drops of what I call belladonna or deadly nightshade (that's not what they use anymore, but the effect is largely the same). So my pupils were HUGE for a few hours, even in bright light. I looked like the cat from Shrek II, except less cute.
On the plus side, my vision seems to be improving with age.
Capt. Syreeta Lawrence uses a Slit Lamp on a patient Jan. 31 at Joint Base Charleston Air Base. A slit lamp provides a stereoscopic magnified view of the eye structures in detail, enabling an anatomical diagnosis to be made for a variety of eye conditions. Both the Air Base and Weapons Station's clinics provide eye care to active duty service members, Reservists on special orders, and special populations, like diabetics. The most common services provided are eye examinations, visual acuity checks, repairing glasses, color vision tests, and comprehensive exams. Lawrence is an optometrist from the 628th Medical Group. Southern College of Optometry's Community Outreach program provided eye and vision care to Memphis area homeless people as part of Project Homeless Connect today. Sponsored by the Community Alliance for the Homeless, the program provided access to medical care, legal services, veterans' affairs and other important resources at the Cook Convention Center in Downtown Memphis.
SCO faculty members were assisted by interns and other volunteers in an elaborate process that involved checking in participants, performing a checklist of assessments and examinations, and aiding homeless citizens who lack access to the most basic care.

Vondrasek is from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, and this is his second time on the mission to the country. The Dauin site is one of three improved by civil engineers during the mission. This optomestist opened in the early 2000s in spaces 1136 and 1134.
Tenant 1138 was originally Kathryn's Korner, which closed in February 1996. It became Walton Coins in June 1997, which was originally located at Mercury Plaza. That shop closed in February 2016 shortly before the owner, Reed Walton, passed away. The optomestist took over the space later that year.
Tenant 1136 was formerly The Box Outlet, which opened in August 1997.
Tenant 1134 was originally Video X-tra, which opened in the early 1990s and closed in February 1997.
