This feeling will probably go away once the cold kicks in but on my way home today I got a glimpse of the first christmas lights. In the city the christmas market is opening...Th festival of light is coming up and friday will be the first snow...

I'll be home in a month's time =)

My beautiful friend Heather in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, at her dad's cabin. We had so much fun in this trip! This is my first attempt at photoshop ever. I have been so hesitant to post this or any photoshop I have ever done because clearly I expect myself to be as amazing as Brooke Shaden within the first month of teaching myself photoshop...how ridiculous is that!?!!

I realized that I am having so much fun learning photography that I should be enjoying my journey with you and getting your constructive criticism which is vital in order to evolve into being a true artist.

It occurs to me that I really want to be a good artist :)

the lovely kitchen is sadly lit and can often be dreary. when i sit at the table, the hallway light streams in from the main space. this makes me feel optimistic.

☞ Part of a series of photos documenting my new home & neighborhood, in the heart of Vermont's largest town: Burlington 05401. • After almost a dozen years in rural Cornwall, 40 miles to the south, I have moved to one of the true outposts of optimism, on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain (the 6th Great Lake).

I've been playing around with the monochrome setting on my camera rather than taking photos and converting them like I've done in the past.

2 lbs. Fresh strawberries

gelatin.

1 envelope Knox Gelatine

2 to 4 tablespoons sugar *(optional)

Cook fruit in crock pot on low for 4hrs

In a medium bowl, mix Knox unflavored Gelatine with sugar*; add hot fruit and stir until gelatine is completely dissolved. Pour into a two-cup bowl, mold or individual dessert dishes; chill until firm. Makes four servings.

When adding fruit (up to 1 1/2 cups), first chill the mixture until the consistency of egg whites. Fold in fruit and pour into 3 cup bowl. Chill until firm.
