Rose against adversity
The yellow rose can indicate strength and are encouraging for someone going through a difficult time such as when healing from illness or surgery. I see this one as hope against adversity. The strength and optimism of the yellow/orange rose fighting its way forward and not giving up.
I believe that we form our own lives, that we create our own reality, and that everything works out for the best. I know I drive some people crazy with what seems to be ridiculous optimism, but it has always worked out for me - Jim Henson
Oh... allowance for inserting bills of 10, 20, and 50 denomination. Even I don't need that much junk food.
Seen in town today, a 1.8 Vauxhall Meriva with an Irmscher badge added underneath.
Definition of optimism right there. :-)
Thomas Hart Benton painted this undulating scene in 1947, when America was riding a wave of postwar optimism. Of course, it is no coincidence that rivers are central to Benton's narrative! In mythology, the hero Hercules tamed the river god Achelous, who became an enraged bull during flood season. In restraining the bull, Hercules preserved the fertile river valleys and their crops.
In this mural, Benton conjures the nation's strength and energy in muscular male figures and in the surging movement of the composition. His bold colors and agricultural subject reflect the sense of abundance and opportunity that characterized postwar society.

Trying to think positive thoughts... I have some follow-up medical tests on Friday that I'm a bit anxious about.
(I'm really wishing I could get the real version of PS working... I'm getting tired of just using Adobe PhotoDeluxe to edit because of the limitations. We have PS, but our main computer needs some serious upgrades/replacement before we can get it working, and Bob, my laptop, is also in need of some serious rehab.)
I wrote this for my wife. I'm lucky to have someone to lean on. To all those people that are also struggling with #Cancer hopefully you do as well. Don't give up, never give up. You can survive it. We can overcome it.
At a time when so much had been lost, optimism for the future was so needed. This tree seemed to embody it, new growth emerging toward the dark clouds despite severe surgery.

First I crocheted the design in red, then I went back and outlined the flowers in black using single crochet.

It's my clan's sign in my fraternity-S for Sparks.
Today was about patience, optimism, and never giving up.
And that's what my fraternity/clan/family is like; optimistic, patient, and hard working.
'Radio loud, radio low,
Or I can sing, if you want me to, baby.'
She looks at her iPhone as it buzzes and frowns at the text on the screen. It wasn't going to be today, then. It might be tomorrow. She wasn't going to give in just yet; she was going to keep trying.
'I can tell God's smiling down,
I just get that feeling,
You and me going town to town,
On two lanes of freedom.'
She gets up and goes outside; standing in the warm Spring sun with the cool wind makes her want to stay there. Her hair sweeps out behind her as the breeze picks up. She holds up her phone and Instagrams a picture-awesome weather & Spring break, so no homework or anything to worry about.
'Oh, no red lights or stop signs around for miles,
Just swaying trees,
Your hair in the breeze,
And that smile,
And I know,
God made old country roads,
For driving and dreaming.'

Jenny Scott - Optimism
I kind of confused Optimism with Positivism, two different things, but to me they have the same ring to it. I was in doubt how to put this into a photo. A glass half full came to mind but when I saw this man writing down his poem on the Dublin streets, I knew this was my shot.
