We where provided the oppurtunity to mobilize a Tandberg T150 unit which performed beautifully over a mobile EVDO connection at 64kbps. The Tandberg provided to be one of the most reliable pieces of hardware we came in contact with.
A cherished project of mine to capture and document the life by the gigantic river Brahmaputra that enters India in the north-eastern frontier state of Arunachal, travels through Assam and has its confluence with the ocean in Bengal.
I have been having discussions with quite a few eminent who have been born an brought up on the banks of this river. I have just started the project as I my work has started taking me to Dibrugarh University where I have become a catalyst to empower the youth of Assam. It is a blessing.
First of the dancers who have been kind to participate are two students, Sattriya dancers, from centre of performing arts at DU - Bhagyashree Senapati and Purasmita Bordoloi; Also I had an oppurtunity to capture.a bunch of youth who do their physical training on the banks of Brahmaputra, The fishermen's village that lives on Brahmaputra

Shot with Kat at the House of Nightmares Group shoot on 11/29/08. It was a blast doing this set in a dark, cold, and dirty basement. If anyone ever has the oppurtunity to work with Kat.... Do NOT pass up the oppurtunity!
Shot with a Nikon D300, 17 - 200 MM VR lens and a SB800 flash. I used 2 Britek 1500 watt strobes (1 behind an umbrella diffuser and the other as a main with umbrella) to balance out some light in this dark warehouse basement.

I shot a friend's moms 40th Birthday party at the Hilton in Hartford on Saturday. It was such a beautiful party and a great oppurtunity to build my portfolio and gain some experience. Today I had a good idea for a photshoot I'd like to pursue. I'm interested in set design within photography and I'd like an oppurtunity to explore it further, the photoshoot I had in mind wasn't doable today as it will require several models and lots of props - in order to create the image in my head, a great deal of the photoshoot will rely on me setting up the scene well. I don't really have a particular date or time I'd like to conduct it by, so over the next few days/weeks/months I'll be keeping my eye out in charity/antique shops for the bits and pieces I need for it. Earlier on I spent some time clearing out my bedroom and I found the suitcase and retro style hairdryer in the picture, I picked them up for £1 each at a car boot sale in York over the summer, intending to use them as photography props. I thought I'd put them to use today as I realised I had other things lying around that would fit the intended theme well (I was going for a retro glamour sort of feel - so I wandered around for a bit and found the lacy silk top, polka dot skirt, peep toe heels, perfume bottle, pearls, Pentax K1000 and red bow hairslide all in my bedroom), then I spent a while arranging everything around the suitcase. I'll be the first to admit this is sort of a cliché shot, but I'm moderately pleased with it, and it turned out the way I invisioned.
I had to do it over, because autumn and winter did not blend well together, because I made winter to small.
That gave me the oppurtunity to show you guys what I started with.

This is a portion of old highway 75 that was re-routed back in the 1960's. U.S. 75 from the 1920's thru sometime in the 1960's veered off quite a bit from its current alignment and went thru some of the small towns in Washington County such as Ochelata, Ramona, Vera, and in Tulsa County, Collinsville, Owasso, Mingo and finally Tulsa.
This slab is a remnant from the days that the highway designation was moved over to the current alignment. The highway up to this point had maintained a fairly straight north-south line after the curves south of Ramona. Now the problem was, the highway had to cross the old Santa Fe railroad. Rather than build a viaduct for the highway to cross the railroad, however, the highway department built an underpass so that motorist would drive under the railroad.
Couple of problems, however. One was that the curvature of the roadbed went towards the outside, rather than lean inwards, so that rounding the curves at normal highway speeds was tricky and quite risky. Two, the underpass itself was built quite narrowly, even by 1920's standards, so that after vehicles had increased in size, basically the underpass had become a one lane passage. Many accidents took place here.
After the highway was re-routed, the roadbed has been a resting place for dirt, junk, more junk, etc. Sometime in the early 1980's, the newer roadbed-which crosses the railroad at a 90 degree angle-had some work performed on it so the old roadbed was cleared out. This lasted about a month or so, but I had the oppurtunity to drive this old alignment at least a couple of times during my lifetime. Nowadays, obviously, the old roadbed is again blocked and judging from the scene today, will never be used again.

Second image relating to Ernest W. Carter, makes you appreciate the ability of the photographer and the quality of the processing given the technology of the 1950's.
Where did he work from? Does anyone know anything about the man or company?
Incedently, the lady pictured is a Gainsborough girl born and bred, still living in the town and quite a fan of the "Gainsborough, past and present" publications. I'm trying to persuade her to recall some memories before the oppurtunity is missed and dig deeper into the family albums.

Taken at the start of the womens tour 2014 in Oundle, Unfortunatley (or fortunatly dependant of your view point) I got stuck in a traffic jam due to the rolling road closures for 20min, so took the oppurtunity to grab the camera and get some shots as they passed by

Parents have pulled me and my sister away from home this Christmas.
Gone up to Derby for a cute Christmas away in a cottage. Went on a lovely walk today, shot off a few images and it gave me the oppurtunity to try out some tilt shifts. First attempt at them so I haven't got the technique dialled yet, should get a bit more practise in if the weather holds up okay, before we shoot off back home!

The three wise men, three kings, or biblical magi (Zoroastrians): Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar.
Part of the 'Wonderlijke Klim' exhibition. The 'wondrous climb' gives visitors what might be a once in a lifetime oppurtunity to see the 96 unique sculptures on the flying butresses of the Sint Janskathedraal in (saint John's cathedral) in 's-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch). The Sint Jan is only one of four cathedrals in the world to have such sculptures. Instead of saints or angels, they depict monsters and common city people, from the architects and masons who worked on the cathedral, to beggars and musicians.
The 'wonderlijke klim' exhibition coincides with the grand Jheronymous Bosch exhibition at the Noord-Brabants Museum in Den Bosch, celebrating the 500th anniversary of the painter's death. Like the paintings of Bosch, the sculptures on the cathedral butresses are from the late middle ages, and depict monsters and common folk, which was a new theme in art at that time. Art from the early and high middle ages often depicted saints, angels and biblical scenes, but certainly not the common workfolk or even beggars. To have them adorning the outside of the cathedral no less, is very unique, and something that could only have been concieved in that particular time and place. Apparently, Jheronymous Bosch personally knew the artist very well who designed these sculptures.

The students of the university Coburg offered the oppurtunity to make a DIY upcycled lamp, which I of course happily accepted. With the help of a friendly technically talented French young lady (see middle) we were able to create a lampshade. My one was called "Levin" dedicated to the name of the male student who sewed the pieces of the lamp together.

Enjoy this riot of colours. this is a miniscule component of sculptures forming part of inside-east tower of the madurai meenakshi temple, tamilnadu state, south india. (today 08-04-2009 being mahakumbakisham (u wud like to know sumthing about this, get in touch) a once-in-a-12 year festival, i had an oppurtunity to access this tower from close quarters. this collage is a group of sculptures as it is seen please. no editing job is involved. it is pure like south indian coffee.

Madingley Hall, Cambridgeshire, 2 Apr 2015
Madingley Hall was built by Sir John Hynde in 1543 and occupied as a residence by his descendants until the 1860s. It is surrounded by parkland. Queen Victoria rented the Hall in 1860 for her son Edward (the future King Edward VII) to live in while he was an undergraduate at Cambridge University. The family sold the Hall in 1871.
The Hall and its surrounding park and farmland have been owned by the University of Cambridge since 1948 and is currently the home of the Institute of Continuing Education.
The earliest recorded image of the gardens is an engraving dating from 1705, showing a formal, Dutch-style garden to the north and east of the Hall. This formal style soon fell victim to the prevailing trend for naturalistic parkland, however, and in 1756, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown was employed to create fashionable, modern gardens. The Yew Topiary Gardens were added in 1927.
I did not know whether it was open to the public, so when I saw an advert for an Open Day I seized the oppurtunity.

Sixteen Year 9 girls from 13 Hampshire schools undertook a residential work experience programme from the 16-20 February 2009 on HMS Bristol. The girls and three staff from the Women in Science and Engineering campaign visited HMS Sultan on the 17 and 19 February 2009. The aim of the visit was for the girls to have an oppurtunity for practical experience in engineering and to meet female engineer role models. This visit also aimed to increase the girls interest in engineering and inspire them to take engineering up as a career.

it is so much bigger then it looks, and very beautiful. It was a great oppurtunity to do this for Mr. Ray Ramirez. I know he is watching, and I hope he apprecaites this. The more I worked on this project, the more I got to learn and know about him. He was a great man, and I wish I got to meet him and know him.
Today I had the oppurtunity to shoot a band while they where recording a demo in our studio. It was a fun shoot and I acyually felt that I learnt a lot. The light was evil, so I had to resort to B&W processing, but I really love how they came out. Still think there’s a lot I should’ve done and shot, but for a first time I’m quite pleased with the results. So was the band ;-)
Bhakti Summer Sangha 2016
The second year of the Bhakti Summer Sangha was a great success, as it gave an oppurtunity to the younger generations to explore spirituality and practice activities such as meditation, kirtan, satsang, seva, and much more among their own peers.
The Summer Sangha has a schedule built around the 9 forms of Bhakti, so that each day the kids and young adults a taste of each of the forms of devotion. The participants are getting a chance to participate in workshops on music, on meditation, and throughout everything, on building a deeper and sweeter relationship to God - in the Guru, in His many many avatars, in the people, and especially within themselves.

I've been spending the last two weeks doing work experience at RPM, a creative agency who specialise in experiential marketing.
During the first couple of days the guys there wanted some of my work on their walls, so they set me on a brief of creating all the signage for each of their different departments, there's nine of them and each illustration relates to what they do in each department. It took a lot of time to redefine each design and make small tweaks, but once finished we were both really happy with the end results.
Quite soon these will all be printed as vinyls and placed on the walls around the company building. Great work, and cool people there, thanks for the oppurtunity guys!
