I think most would disagree, but I think this picture is better than the other marksman shot (operator-3). This is the only picture in the series where most of the subject's face is obscured. I think that adds some great tension to this shot, because it lets your mind fill in his expression yourself.
Strobist Info:
Exposed to kill ambient.
Yongnuo 460-II through 48' white umbrella about 35 degrees left of camera and ~2' from subject's face, angled downward. 1/1 power.
Subject was about 10' from the back wall.
I believe that was the only flash used, and the fill on the back wall is actually bounce from the strobe
Post-pro Info:
This picture is almost right from the camera, bumped exposure 1/3 stop and clarity 60+ in Lightroom.

WOOD-HEATED WORKPLACE: Wayne Kostal of Darlingford is one of a growing number of farmers turning to wood stoves to warm their farm buildings. In this case, Kostal generates heat from this outdoor stove to warm water that circulates from the stove to a network of pipes in the concrete floor of his farm shop. The shed is "toasty warm - a perfect place to work on machinery or any winter project." photographer Jeannette Greaves wrote.

Know anyone that has top mount cranks like this? My windows were made by Hope - apparently sometime between '37 and '39.
Part of a fantastic diorama display inside one of Pioneer Park's Museums in Fairbanks. There are multiple dioramas depicting different historical mining operations in Alaska. The details are amazing and certainly worth a donation to the museum's donation box.
Operating the crane at the Children's Museum in St. Paul. Peter insisted on wearing the hat he made in school; it's a great hat. He has a future in musical theater, I think.
Four of Spectre's Deniable Operators series (Alfa riflemen, Grenadier Alfa, Marksman Alfa) painted as more-or-less a unified squad. Same pants, packs, and hats, different jacket colors.
