Operation Lone Star (OLS) will offer free health clinics during Monday, July 26 thru Friday, July 30, 2021 as an extension of a disaster preparedness exercise of the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Operation Lone Star is a joint disaster preparedness event providing humanitarian services thru the Texas Department of State Health Services, Human Services Agencies, Texas Military Forces, Remote Area Medical (RAM), County/City Health Departments, Local Service Groups and Volunteers from all over Texas and different areas of the United States.
Operation Lone Star will be held at F.S. Lara Academy located at 2901 E. Travis St. from Monday, July 26, 2021 – Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM and Friday, July 30, 2021 from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
Services will include:
•Medical exams
•Sports physicals for students
•Vision and hearing screenings
•Health and diabetic screenings
•Immunizations for children and adults
For Children (Vaccines on the Children Vaccine Program)
For Adults (Adult TDAP – Prevent Whooping Cough//Tetanus-Diphtheria every 10 years or earlier, Adult MCV-4 - Teen/Adult Bacterial Meningitis//Meningococcal Vaccine, Adult MMR II – Measles, Mumps, and Rubella, HPV-9 – Human Papillomavirus, MEN-B – Meningococcal B Vaccine, for Meningitis B-Back to School Vaccine
•COVID-19 Vaccines: Pfizer and Moderna
•Dental services for adults and children
•Vision exams (Ophthalmologist) for adults and children. Persons needing glasses will be able to select their frame and arrangements will be made individually for delivery process.
•We will have social worker available to help make connection to services after Operation Lone Star (OLS).
•Mental health professional available on site.
The Task Force was assigned to assault a village near the Ligeria-Nagonia border to capture or eliminate Hadir Sulaman and Omar Hassan, the masterminds behind the ambush and killing of four Victorian special operations forces operators.
The assault team launched at night aboard two Pave Hawk helicopters. Just before dawn, they reached the landing zone (LZ) several kilometers from the village. From there, the team patrolled toward the village without incident.
Once overwatch was established, the assault team immediately initiated the assault on the village.

It led to the revenge destruction of villages and mass killings of civilians, notably the Lidice massacre. According to one estimate, 5,000 people were murdered in the reprisals
After the assassination the assailants initially hid with two Prague families and later took refuge in the Cathedral of Sts Cyril and Methodius, where they were cornered by SS and died after a stand-off.

Two men arrested following a series of warrants in Wythenshawe as we continue to tackle suspected ‘chop shops’ across GM
This morning (27/02/2025), officers from our Bolton Neighbourhood Crime Team (NCT), Tactical Aid Unit (TAU) and Stolen Vehicle Examination Unit (SVEU) executed warrants across Greater Manchester, leading to two arrests.
Officers conducted a warrant at a premises on Shentonfield Road, Wythenshawe to recover suspected stolen vehicle parts; four vehicle blocks were located which officers suspected had been stolen.
The team also seized two vehicles which were suspected of being used in connection with other crimes.
A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles, while a 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
Both men are in police custody for questioning.
These warrants are part of Operation Gosport, a national investigation into the theft of motor vehicles and the conspiracy to steal motor vehicles.
Sergeant Thomas Bayliss, from Bolton’s NCT, said: “Hard work and long hours from officers within the Neighbourhood Crime Team, with support from Tactical Aid Unit, the Stolen Vehicle Examination Unit and the Crime Scene Investigation team, have today helped police identify a suspected ‘chop shop’ in the south Manchester area.
“This operation shows that we will not tolerate vehicle crime, while providing the public with confidence that their reports of crime are being taken seriously and criminals are being dealt with.”
“Vehicle crime is not simply an inconvenience to people, it often affects their livelihood and way of income.”

This morning (2 September 2022), officers smashed through the doors of 17 properties in the north, south and centre of Manchester, as part of a dedicated day of action to target criminals linked to the supply of drugs across the region.
The warrants were carried out simultaneously in areas including Wythenshawe, Whalley Range, Gorton, Longsight and Moss Side.
Today’s day of action was undertaken as part of ‘Operation Safer Manchester’ which is a City of Manchester based partnership initiative to crack down on crime in key areas affecting local residents including drugs, burglary, robbery and vehicle related crime.
Chief Superintendent Rob Cousen, of GMPs City of Manchester district, said: “Drug related criminality can have a devastating impact, destroying the lives of vulnerable people and creating the funds for organised crime groups to grow and further infiltrate our communities.
“The fight to crack down on drug supply never stops and today’s day of action is just an example of the work we do on a daily basis across Greater Manchester to keep the public safe.
“As always, and especially with drug related crime, we rely heavily on information from the public to help us to identify offenders so we can take them off our streets. I’d like to appeal today to anyone who knows anything about drug dealing happening in their local area, or anyone who may have suspicions about it happening, to contact police. Canadian Rangers from Tasiujaq and Aupaluk (Bay of Ungava, Nunavik) conducted their annual 12 day training between February 23 and March 5, 2012.
Formally established in 1947, Canadian Rangers protect Canada's sovereignty by reporting unusual activities or sightings, collecting local data of significance to the Canadian Forces and conducting surveillance or sovereignty patrols as required.
They also participate in local Search & Rescue (SAR) operations and provide support in response to natural or man-made disasters and humanitarian operations.

Originalement créés en 1947, les Rangers canadiens protégent la souveraineté du Canada en signalant des activités ou des phénomènes inhabituels, en recueillant, localement, des données d'importance pour les opérations militaires et en effectuant, au besoin, des patrouilles de surveillance ou de protection de la souveraineté.
Les Rangers canadiens participent aussi aux opérations de recherches et de sauvetages (SAR) local et fourni une aide humanitaire et secours en cas de catastrophe.

After months of preparations, 1,500 residents of Kalma camp (in Nyala, South Darfur) for internally displaced persons (IDPs) began to return to their homes of origin in West Darfur. This is the first government owned operation with the assistance of UN Agencies in the area.
The IDPs will return to Tandusa, Andi, Gido, Sullu and Urum villages in West Darfur located about 90 and 150 kilometers south of El Geneina town.
United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) distributed non food items including blankets, jerricans and sleeping mats to each household to use on the journey. The World Health Organization (WHO) in coordination with the Ministry of Health conducted medical screening to all residents scheduled to travel to check their fitness level.

Operation AVRO is a forcewide initiative that delivers a surge of extra resources and specialist officers to a different district within Greater Manchester each month.
This month (June 2022) saw the operation take place in Bolton.
The operation targets crimes that members of the public in that district have told us give them the most concern.

Aerocaribe was founded in 1972 as Aerolíneas Bonanza, it started operations on 12 July 1975 under the name Aerocaribe. Aerocaribe was an airline based in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. It was a regional affiliate of Mexicana operating services under the Mexicana Inter banner and codeshares with its parent company. In 2005 Mexicana decided to rebrand Aerocaribe as a low-cost airline, MexicanaClick. Aerocaribe operated 7 DC-9-10 and 9 of the series -30.
XA-SVZ (DC-9-15 c/n 47125 l/n 388) was delivered in October 1968 to Aeronaves de Mexico (Later Aeromexico) as XA-SOG. In December 1989 the plane was sold to Intercontinental Colombia as HK-3486X and in September 1994 it joined Aerocaribe fleet as XA-SVZ. The plane was eventually retired in January 2002.
