When a few flowers died in each of two bunches of flowers I was given, I merged them together and think the colours go well.
Day 17 post-op yesterday and I took a walk down the road, with Ray and 2 crutches for company (although I can now manage fine with 1 indoors) my target being to the local church and back. It was slow, the traffic a bit noisy to somebody unaccustomed to walking out but there is a handy seat near the church.
Once home, Ray checked the distance and found I had walked just over half a mile - well pleased!
At Park Air Base Soesterberg you'll find this more than unique meeting location, Secret Operation 610. No hut on the moor but a futuristic object, moving on tracks. Take a seat in the cockpit for a creative brainstorming or an inspiring meeting, as you see the tranquil natural landscape of the former military airbase passing by. Inspiration guaranteed!

We stumbled by chance on a coast guard rescue operation while visiting Las Teresitas.
Helicopter and boats were searching around a specific spot on the coast.
We checked later and found out that tragically two young swimmers got trapped in a small cave and drowned before help arrived.
Unexpected chases are always some of best and coolest experiences. The K&O is by far one of the coolest watco operations I've shot and to ones amazement its pretty much just as the Mopac left it.
Operation Shingle (January 22, 1944), during the Italian Campaign of World War II, was an Allied amphibious landing against Axis forces in the area of Anzio and Nettuno, Italy. The operation was commanded by Major General John P. Lucas and was intended to outflank German forces of the Winter Line and enable an attack on Rome. The resulting combat is commonly called the Battle of Anzio. (Read the article on wikipedia).
Unfortunately, this is only a very small part of the cemetery.

That lighthouse was built in 1906.

Dating from 1906 and still in operation, the La Martre Lighthouse has a unique wooden structure. In addition, the original timing system (cable and weights) still controls the light as it rotates in its pool of mercury.
A permanent exhibit in an adjacent building introduces you to the expertise involved, from the 1700s to today, in designing lighthouse lanterns and tells you more about the evolution of lighthouses and their importance to navigators.

Dover and Rockaway River RP-2 with the equipment for the next day's Operation Toy Train runs west through Dover, NJ, on NJ Transit's Morris and Essex Line. The train would run the next day over DRRV rails from Rockaway to Phillipsburg, to collect toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots.

An M-551 Sheridan light tank of the 82nd Airborne Division, loaded with supplies, waits to be loaded onto a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft at the start of Operation Desert Storm.
On Monday 1st September 2025, Go-Bus started operation alongside Arriva Kent Thameside on route 477 operating between Swanley ASDA and Dartford runnaing a half hourly service throughout the day.
On the first day of operation, Go-Bus 4501 YJ09 MMK is seen on Barn End Lane, Wilmington whilst working route 477. Monday 1st September 2025.

Platoons of EU soldiers infiltrate and squeeze through the cracks in the defense system. The most efficient way to infiltrate was to move through towering crates and harbor ships to attack the grand city.

A McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) CF-18 "Hornet" (official military designation CF-188) (S/N 188791) from the Canadian Air Task Force Lithuania flies beside a Portuguese General Dynamics (its aviation unit now part of Lockheed Martin) F-16 "Fighting Falcon" (S/N 15102) over Lithuania on September 15, 2014 for the NATO Baltic Air Policing Block 36 during Operation REASSURANCE.

A big hornet nest on the tall trees has been destroyed. Six people from Public Defense Department (JPA) called upon by the villagers came with a long prop, cotton waste and gasoline. About 15 minutes later, they start the flame and bring it up to burn the nest. Then, a colony of hornet (Giant Wasps) has turned to ash.
Can you imagine what the lost to the nature and macro lovers like us !
