A quiet space to escape the buzz of traffic and people in the town. Looking over the "Queen's Gardens" towards the Croydon Clocktower, Croydon, Outer London
The sky was filled with these big clouds and the long-awaited rain fell shortly thereafter. It was not a big storm but instead a pleasant storm.

Bordeaux, Gothic spire of Saint-Michel Basillica, June 2004. One of the city's many produce markets is held here on weekday mornings. At other times the plaza becomes a neighorhood parking lot and football stadium for the local kids. This neighborhood is the center of Bordeaux's large North African immigrant community.

Other title: Campidoglio (Rome, Italy); Capitoline Hill (Rome, Italy); Palazzo dei Conservatori (Rome, Italy)
Creator: Michelangelo Buonarroti, 1475-1564
Date: 1563-1575
Current location: Rome, Roma, Lazio, Italy
Description of work: This photograph shows a typical bay from the facade of the Conservators' Palace on the Capitoline. Designed by Michelangelo, it uses a giant order of Corinthian pilasters on podia supporting an entablature to unite the two-story composition. The open ground story is defined by two smaller, free-standing Ionic columns supporting a smaller entablature, while the window surrounds of the upper story use even smaller applied Corinthian columns to support a broken segmental pediment around a carved shell form. The balustrade at the bottom of the window repeats the much larger balustrade (not visible) that crowns the full width of the entire building.

Good teamwork once again between PAFD, @mrosd rangers, and Palo Alto rangers to take care of patients. Here the firefighters and medics return from loading a patient on to a Life Flight helicopter to head to a hospital. Midpen rangers helped with patient care and set up the landing zone. We're here for you when you're in trouble. #openspace #paloalto via Instagram ift.tt/29CnHaL
