Schiermonnikoog is a Dutch island close to the city where we live. It definitely is my favourite outdoor close-to-home photography destination.

The Asian openbill or Asian openbill stork (Anastomus oscitans) is a large wading bird in the stork family Ciconiidae. This distinctive stork is found mainly in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It is greyish or white with glossy black wings and tail and the adults have a gap between the arched upper mandible and recurved lower mandible. Young birds are born without this gap which is thought to be an adaptation that aids in the handling of snails, their main prey. Although resident within their range, they make long distance movements in response to weather and food availability.

Methinks the fruit trees that leafed out over the past several days when temperatures approached 70 ËšF will be rewarded for their efforts with a pinching cold in bud and twig. It also feels odd thinking about life and rejuvenation in the midst of a pandemic. Odd though it may be, it is life and rejuvenation that will see us through, one way or the other...

This reminds me of the mindset: "when something isn't right anymore, leave it, there is always another way or open door.." You see the paint is peeled of and the light is coming in from another room.. new chances..

Image taken in Colorado, USA, where there were no fences in this area, just open range. Thanks for the visits!
I was impressed by the fact that pillows were placed on the bench! Just decor? Or meant to provide comfort? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Happy Window Wednesday!
