Around twice a day, Tower Bridge opens its bascules to let tall ships sail upriver. It takes about 75 seconds to open completely!

For some years now I've been photographing the hills I live below, sometimes steadily, most times shakily :-) and still I'm surprised by entirely new landscapes emerging.
If you're coming, bring warm clothes,
it's autumn and a little cool.
I'm hoping there's cake hidden in there too.
It's a big country...
I think we'll need it ;-)

The open gate says welcome ....and I would have loved to gone into this beaten-up old house but despite the open gate somehow it looked threatening!

Für das Klassik Open Air 2022 illuminiert: Das Neue Rathaus Hannover. Die Sehnsucht nach Musikgenuss in märchenhafter Umgebung wurde auch 2022 erfüllt. Vor der Kulisse des Neuen Rathauses erklangen an zwei Abenden Arien und Duette aus dem Opernrepertoire.
Illuminated for the Classic Open Air 2022: The Neue Rathaus Hannover. The yearning for music enjoyment in fairytale surroundings was also fulfilled in 2022. Arias and duets from the opera repertoire were performed on two evenings against the backdrop of the New Town Hall.

This castle folly at the Saltram estate in Devon was open to the elements, very handy if you fancy somewhere to sit awhile and eat your sarnies!
