Yes folks, I scrambled up the side of a hill to take a picture of this sign, and then I read it. We were parked at the bottom, but we moved pretty sharpish.
The rails on this railroad just weren't up to the task of actually carrying trains anymore.
I saw this a short time after it happened.
When I got on the scene, there was a group of guys wearing orange vests staring at the train (of course, keeping to the uphill side - safety first after all). Then someone (also wearing a orange safety vest) would drive up, hop out of their car.
Then someone else would drive up.
There was getting to be quite a crowd.
Unfortunately, the combined efforts of staring at the train did not fix it, as it is still there several days later.
Here at the hotel, breakfast is officially until 9am. Generally, landlord, Iain, will go to 9:30am. As a regular guest, if they are quiet, he'll let me have breakfast at 10am as the latest, so I can have a lay-in at the weekend.
It generally takes me just over an hour to shower, dress & do make-up. Woke up this morning before the alarm. Went to the toilet, then snuggled down in bed again. Had a look at the time before dozing off again.
9:20am?!?!?!?
WHAT?!?!?!?
I'd set the alarm for 9:45am instead of 8:45am!
"OOPS" indeed!
Very quick shower, dressed, make-up and just enough time for a few photos before rushing down to breakfast at exactly 10am!
Not looking too bad considering!
We went out to try and watch the sunset even though it was cloudy and sprinkling (dur...it was his idea), and got stuck on the way there! We turned the corner and knew it wasn't a good idea, but I guess Brian thought he could gun his way through it. He eventually dug his way out. I was the lookout for reckless rednecks, which I'm sure we looked like.
Washed off the ford at St John's Chaple.
The police had closed the road off , then we saw why- once the stepping stones are underwater probably its not a good idea to attempt this one ;)
The clothes hanging up in the back are intriguing too, think I was too late for the best pic.
I've heard of distorting the truth but this is just silly. "Deformation" indeed. Yep, it's from the Grauniad
Someone had an accident...but they didn't bother to replace the window blind. I wonder what caused it?
