Something went terribly wrong as the LA&L was switching Kraft in Avon, NY on November 21, 2024. Looks like the rear truck on 426 spread the rail, resulting in it and 4 cars hitting the dirt. No one noticed the 426 was off the rail until it rode over the crossing and then slammed down onto the ground after it got clear of it. I was standing near the crossing and did not hear anything unusual until 426 hit the ground past the crossing.

Next time I will try a little harder. Actually, I have taken some pictures were the droplets created some nice images, however I like this sculpture better then the others.

Since I'm back in Covid lockdown, I decided to do something a little different with the blog. I still make a new post every day. I've been doing it for the past 14 years... errrr. quick math: That's about 3,000 photos and stories I have up there. Wow, I need a hobby... oh wait I guess I have one! Anyway, I'm going to be picking a handful of my favorite photos from each country each day. THIS is a scary photo I have ready to go for Japan day. I started looking through... and I have SO many interesting photos from Japan... I've been there about 8 times I think? I might do a whole Japan week... and this will be another photo I post to my new Instagram highlight category called "People."

This is what us photographers like to refer to in the business as the point of no return. A decision has been made. There is no maybe at this point. Commitment is 100%. A Black Squirrel accidentally looses it's walnut . Just seconds before this he was eating the walnut, but I guess he got nervous with me pointing my lens at him !I hope he found the walnut on the ground after I left him.
It is the Black Squirrels in this town that carry that special gene to produce white squirrel babies. Thanks to that special gene , there is a population of over 50 of these rare White Squirrels.

Mi ero allontanata un attimo dal gruppo per fotografare una mimosa che avevo visto da lontano in una stradina che si dipanava dal torrente che stavamo costeggiando.
Non mi aspettavo di trovare la signora nel giardino e neppure lei si aspettava di vedere me, vista l'espressione....
Ho cercato di rompere l'imbarazzo.

Only 25 more days and I'll be done! I'm excited yet sad it's ending. This was a rather hard shot to get. I had to perfectly time throwing the pictures before the flash went off. It only took a million tries. I either threw too early or too late lol.
