If I look less than thrilled, it is because I catch like a girl. It is true that I catch and throw baseballs, footballs, and basketballs like a girl because I have a female skeletal and muscular system. Yep, I was harassed most of my life for my poor athletic abilities, because I considered playing with balls to be silly boy's games that weren't worth the effort to master. Now I could hit bad guys right in the face with rocks and dirt clods and toss hand grenades into enemy bunkers without any problem, since there was far more at stake than playing stupid games.

Unfortunately, I fumbled scooping up one of the grilled salmon fillets off Leslie Anne's grill a couple of weeks ago. It broke, and part of it fell on the patio. Ooops! Dropping a delicious piece of fish is much more important than missing a grounder, pop fly, or forward pass. I told my girl to eat the other fillet, and I would eat the small chunk that remained, plus I picked up the fish off the patio tiles and judged it to be fit for me. The dropped piece was still cleaner than much of my Army food out in the field. I worked in fast food places in high school and know that cooks in the back play games with customers' food.

As the photo was taken, I still felt like an idiot and hadn't quite recovered my composure. My fish off the patio turned out ok, and this was my second try at grilling asparagus. Leslie Anne's corn on the cob and cornbread was good as always.

I think after so many great adventures around England he is starving so I invited him to share with me my lunch but I didn't know he would love eat all of it... from inside. I hope he wont have any stomach sensations after visit in my home.

Tomorrow he'll have a little snack and then he'll be ready for new adventures.

Despite the many light houses along the North Carolina's Outer Banks, shipwrecks are not all that uncommon. Not sure how old this one is, but the owners appear to continue to work at salvaging this vessel.

Want to do something like this (or exactly like this?) Why not join us on our week long Outer Banks Workshop where you'll be luxuriating in an Oceanfront Mansion, and have meals professionally prepared. Just bring your camera and relaxation. We'll supply the rest.

One of these thing just doesn't belong here, one of these thing just isn't the same....

The sacrifices us photographers make for our art :~)

OK, it was an accident and I dropped a glass, so I was not going to let the pieces go to waste, not just yet anyway.

Always enjoy snapping glass, but it even better when it has broken edges to add extra bits of contrast to the image. Took a few test shots to get the background looking right, which is probably more of a challenge than clear white, but I think I got the balance about right.

Expect to see this glass again, I have a few more ideas I want to try.

Day 100 of 365 (Year Two)

Wow, 100 days into year two and I go and forget all about it. It isn't that I had anything special planned for it, but it wasn't until after working out of the second of the two new books I got on this pop art piece I realized that today was day 100. So what do you do when you make a boo boo like that? You try an erase it. My little cartoon didn't seem to appreciate that though and fought me on it, so I decided to let him stay (with a few minor battle scars of course).

The second book I got the other day was the O'Reilly Digital Studio Fine Art Effects Cookbook. It seems to be pretty handy, although I'm liking the Photo Effects Cookbook better. There is a lot of good stuff in there for duplicating the look of different photographic techniques as well as duplicating some famous artists work in your stuff. I can see that I'm going to have a lot of fun with the two of them.

i picked the National Arboretum for a playdate mostly for its photographic potential. and yet the only photo i took was i while I was standing next to the car coaching the boys to buckle in when the playdate was over and i realized i hadn't taken a single shot. again.

THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SIGHT FOR THE PAPZ. >:D

When Danbo was nearly finished painting my wall a little mishap happened.. his paper hat slipped down and he could only see with one eye ... He didn't want to have paint on his head so he tried to put the hat right on again.. that looked pretty funny :-)

A little outtake for you :-)
