The vintage pairing of 8030 and 8037 race up hill through Oolong, as they head for Maldon with a load of empty cement iso containers as 3MS7 from Melbourne/Benalla.
Typically 8030 spends more time inside a workshop than out and when it is, it's very uncommon to lead, so I was incredibly chuffed to have it on the front.
Later that day, the pairing went as far as Goulburn before hired units from CFCLA took over, before then going to Melbourne for grain work in the Mallee.

Triple C44ACis on a new rake of wagons is something we wouldn't really think of just 2-3 years ago but now it's became the norm suddenly.

With all the hype over the weekend and a new government that takes climate change seriously, I can now pretty much expect Australia to downsize coal operations, thus pushing modern power onto bulk trains soon.

❀ Botanical note:
"Camellia sinensis var. sinensis — commonly known as tea plant, tea shrub, and tea tree — is a species of evergreen shrub or small tree in the family Theaceae. It is native to East Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia, but today, it is grown globally in tropical and subtropical climates.
Camellia sinensis var. sinensis is a perennial shrub, growing 4 to 5 ft (1.2 to 1.5 m) tall. The leaves are 1½ to 6 inches long (4 to 15 cm) and ¾ to 2 inches broad (2 to 5 cm). Young, light-green leaves of the plant are used to make tea: white tea, yellow tea, green tea, oolong, dark tea, and black tea. The flowers are yellow-white, 1 to 1½ inches in diameter, with seven or eight petals."
