Historic Ontario Northland Railway (ONR) station in Timmins, Ontario, Canada. The old depot was built in 1916 by the Temiskaming and Northern Ontario Railway (renamed the Ontario Northland Railway in 1946). The former railroad depot now serves as the Timmins Transit Terminal.

Sitting next to the OVR's yard in North Bay is a collection of interesting equipment, including ONR predecessor Temiscaming & Northern Ontario 2-8-0 503 at far left, and a couple of cars from the days when the Northlander ran with TEE (Trans-Europ Express) trainsets. The OVR's engine terminal can be seen in the background.

The unit now has an identity of it's own with the cab number decals on. As well there are a couple of warning labels on too.

Ontario Northern Railway - The Northlander - ONR bought this train secondhand from a European railroad (Guess: Switzerland). I was headed to the Canadian West by car and stopped briefly for this photo. Did not record date or location (Guess:North Bay, Ont.)

Done with all the hand railings on.

Like a bauws. ON 1805 makes it's way past the signal bridge at the old Cabin D location with a 697 ready to load passengers at Union before continuing north up the Bala Sub to Washago to transfer to the Newmarket Sub for the remainder of the trip.

The overnite ONR-VIA train arrives in Toronto in October, 1980 with a pair of ONR FP7A's.

The railroad bridge consists of three-span 38.1 m (125 ft) Pratt through truss spans. It was built in 1904 by the Dominion Bridge Company of Montreal for the Temiskaming and Northern Ontario Railway. The railway was renamed the Ontario Northland Railway in 1946.

ONR SD40-2 #1735 waits with one boxcar while the Northlander readys to back down to the station for the last time.

Not sure if this is a beefed up TK or a KM Luton van on TIR work. There were several companies that fitted KM headlights and twin bumpers to their TKs. Thanks to SemmyTrailer I now know its was a KM after all. I drove a KM tipper for Blue Circle in 1970 and always liked it, the only thing I wasn't keen on was the air cleaners on the shelf behind the driver. Could have done with a two speed though!
