Second instalment in this wallpaper series.

Finding an original quote that fits with the picture is slightly harder than I thought.

Next one on or before August 24th.

Life is a journey. Along the way Mother Nature provides our needs. They have always been there since billion of years ago when most of the lands were uninhabited by man..

A great campaign, and one that's worth supporting and that will hopefully triumph.

As far back as I can remember, there have always been skateboarders under the Purcell Room. Watching them fall off their skateboards or mis-land numerous ollies has always been an essential part of a weekend afternoon by the river.

A bit further along, at the Royal Festival Hall, where you used to be able to marvel at Hugh Casson, Leslie Martin et al's rhapsody in concrete and enjoy the spectacle of south bank life, there are now just lots of little roped off bits of private space where people consume generic food prepared by companies like Wagamama, Giraffe and YO! Sushi: an island of crap in the middle of one of the world's great public spaces.

Carry on in that direction and civilisation ends beyond Hungerford Bridge: the former City Hall offers a nightmare vision of desecrated public space: what was once a great institution has been gutted by trash-commerce: the cancer of the Saatchi Gallery and the Salvador Dali Experience have long since attacked the marrow, leaving an empty shell where parasites find an easy dwelling.

This horrific vision gives us an insight into what the Southbank Centre might look like some years from now. In March 2013, the great and the good who run the Centre unveiled their plans to introduce more private retail spaces, and to turn the area the skaters are currently using into more crappy chain cafes. The skaters would be pushed under Hungerford Bridge, downstream, with the trash. Presumably everyone will move along a space; the McDonalds in City Hall can relocate to the Palace of Westminster, and so on.

However, unlike the poets, artists and musicians who were supposed to be saveguarding the Royal Festival Hall space, the skaters raised a stink: great news for everybody who uses and enjoys the area around Waterloo. This is what the Long Live Southbank campaign is all about.

The London Aquatics Centre is an indoor facility with two 50-metre (160-foot) swimming pools and a 25-metre (82-foot) diving pool in Olympic Park at Stratford, London, it was one of the main venues of the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics. The centre was used for the swimming, diving and synchronised swimming events. After significant modification the centre is due to open to the public in 2014.

It was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid in 2004 before London won the bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics. The centre was built alongside the Water Polo Arena, and opposite the Olympic Stadium on the opposite bank of the Waterworks River. The site is 45 metres (148 feet) high, 160 metres (520 feet) long and 80 metres (260 feet) wide. The wave-like roof is stated to be 11,200 square feet (1,040 m2), a reduction from the previously stated 35,000 square feet (3,300 m2).

The Olympic Park, in London, United Kingdom, is a sporting complex built for the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics, situated to the east of the city adjacent to the Stratford City development. It contains the athletes' Olympic Village and several of the sporting venues including the Olympic Stadium and London Aquatics Centre, besides the London Olympics Media Centre. The park is overlooked by the ArcelorMittal Orbit, an observation tower and Britain's largest piece of public art. After the Olympics, the park is to be known as Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II, though it will not be an official Royal Park of London.

London's Olympic and Paralympic bid proposed that there would be four indoor arenas in the park in addition to the main venues, but the revised master plan published in 2006 reduced this to three, with the volleyball events moved to the Earls Court Exhibition Centre. The fencing arena was also cancelled, with the fencing events taking place at ExCeL London. The remaining indoor arenas are the Basketball Arena and the Copper Box, in addition to the Water Polo Arena, the Aquatics Centre, and the Velopark. The final design of the park was approved by the Olympic Delivery Authority and its planning-decisions committee.

Final one (or rather, final scheduled one) on May 10th, on 500px.

I thought I would give the frogs and toads a break, and go harass some poppies instead.. ;-)

Hair is getting longer and longer and we can't let this loose...so we've been plaiting her hair.

I'm actually the one doing it most of the time. Can you believe it?

June was a big month for us. Flavie got a little brother and I can honestly say she's the best big sister one can have.

This shot is in no way related to this news.

It's just Flavie walking in the park.

The Water Polo Arena was a venue of the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London from 27 July to 12 August 2012. It is situated in the south-east corner of the Olympic Park, alongside the Aquatics Centre, and opposite the Olympic Stadium on the opposite bank of the Waterworks River.

The Aquatics Centre and Water Polo Arena are adjacent to each other in one of the most compact areas of the park. To make the best use of the space available, some back-of-house facilities, such as space for broadcasters, catering and security were shared between the two venues.

The first dedicated water-polo venue to be built for an Olympics, the structure will be taken down after the games. Elements of the venue are expected to be reused or relocated elsewhere.

What! I'm not allowed to buy the three hour block of Mafia Sluts? DAMN YOU COMCAST!!!

They almost reminded me of ZZ Top but a little aged with the white goatees.

Third instalment in this wallpaper series.

That quote is actually something I said last week. I forget what the context was but it has to be good right?

I've decided to run a small experiment with this project. Even instalments will go on 500px and odd instalments (like this one) will be on flickr.

Therefore, you'll find the next one on or before September 7th, on 500px or September 21st if you don't look on 500px.

See title above. This is the perfect example of how much actual work there is in "working from home".

You may think that's a boring shot. It may very well be.

I do have a related story to tell though so if you're not too busy, here it is:

While looking for a name while my wife was pregnant with our son, we were still constantly getting books to read my daughter at the public library accross the street. One of the books we all really liked is The Pencil by Allan Ahlberg. It's a fun little story staring a pencil that draws other characters and objects. Everything he draws asks to be named so the pencil delivers names. For everything: a ball, ants, erasers. It's a central theme in this book.

So anyway, there were a few names inside the book cover and here's the punch: there was a window named Milo. I liked it. That's how a name was picked (in case it's not clear enough, my son is named Milo).

This is my oldest build I have ever uploaded onflickr. I made it directly after I saw the film We were soldiers, and I loved it, I'm looking on doing an updated version and turning it into a black hawk for a later moc, but that's a while away.

Edit:I am featuring an updated version in my vietnam comp entry.

The Basketball Arena has 12,000 seats for Olympic basketball and the semi-finals and finals of the Olympic handball, and 10,000 for Paralympic wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby. The arena was also used as a holding area for athletes during the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the games. Concept designs by Wilkinson Eyre Architects were agreed in June 2008 and a planning application was submitted in November 2008. It is a temporary venue, and the largest built for any Games. The possibility of subsequently deconstructing the arena and transporting it to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Summer Olympics was discussed, though the plan has been shelved due to doubts from some Brazilian officials about its feasibility.
