Shot in 2018, during a two week assignment in Myanmar shooting stills on a movie.
Spent a few days hanging around the station. Amazing place to shoot.
Whilst I was on assignment in Kyoto back in 2015, one of the locations I was asked by the client to visit and shoot was the monkey park in Arashiyama. It's a good walk up there, for the cardio exercise, and you're rewarded not just with loads of monkeys. But, also, wth a superb view of the city.
I got there very close to closing time. It'd been a busy and full day. But, this fella sat, posed for me and gave me ten minutes of his time. Then calmly jumped down off the fence post and wandered off.
Such a characterful face. And he gave me a few long, searching looks. Fascinating chap.

I was on assignment two years ago, shooting an event organised by an association of architects and art directors. Mariel was guest speaker. This was taken at the extraordinary Miho Museum, just outside Kyoto.
Lovely lady. Bit of a childhood crush of mine. She laughed and gave me a hug when I told her that.
We've stayed in touch since. Very proud that she uses a colour version of this shot as her Instagram avatar.

Staple diet to almost half of the world's human beings, these rice is about to be harvested in the next few days when this photo was taken.
Shot on assignment by my son, the image looks so simple and easy job but the preparations on finding the right place and right time could be challenging enough for a student who grew up his entire young life in suburban district.
For him, discovering the paddies, meeting with farmers who toils the land, and knowing how these rice are being processed from remote rural areas, then distributed to cities can be worthy of telling – "photography indeed is a great tool for learning", he wrote on his Email.

In 2018, I spent a couple of weeks shooting on a movie in Myanmar.
A lot of it was filmed on the Circle Line around Yangon.

This place was one of the most special places I've ever been. Especially at dawn. Was there in 2013 as unit stills photographer on a Japanese movie being made for Haneda Airport and World Heritage.

Shot as part of huge commission I had in 2013, shooting content for the new international terminal in Haneda Airport.
This was on the first leg of the second half of the trip, in Thailand. We spent a few days up north at the Sukhotai temple complex. Amazing to have free run of the place for shooting not just fashion with Miyu but also the temples and landscapes themselves.

“The front door is painted a rich, bright red. The corners of my mouth curl into a smile. Have I mentioned my love affair with red? It's a beautiful, trusting relationship. Nothing coated in such a wondrous color could ever be bad.”

2011 is off to a blustery start in the Great White North!
I'm skipping ahead here by four or five months to throw up a little preview of some stuff I'll get to by March, if I'm lucky.
Just before Christmas Megan, Damian and myself shipped off to NYC on assignment. We had a blast and covered most of what we needed to cover. Then the magazine came back and asked me for some winterly fashion photos, so Megan and I went back to work. I was setting up the lights and making some tests when I took this. I like it, so it goes up!
Once the magazine comes out I'll get up the "fashion" pieces.
Thanks, Megs! A trooper in sub-zero conditions and a real model citizen in front of the camera. Get it?

The debut of a new preset today. I dub this The Muckraker.

Guilty as charged!
Right in front of my nose, huge buildings, occupied by hundreds of families.
Downtown San Paulo, Brazil.
Few blocks from the City Hall, the Stock Exchange, the Central Bank among so many other fundamental, worthy and basic institutions.
In just one of the buildings, 475 families occupies 27 unfinished floors.
Kids play and run.
Clotheslines on the outside of the building, without any protection from falling down and in front of the entire city.
Windows, with breathtaking views, of one of the biggest and most populated cities on the Planet, made of compensated wood or sticks, even at the 27th floor.
People that use strength and organization to impose their reality, to a society that doesn’t care to listen.
Guilty as charged!
