I took this photo from Santa Monica's Ocean Avenue which overlooks beach. Although it was December 25th, the day was warm and folks were out and about on the bike/walk path. We felt guilty enjoying this type of weather while the rest of the country was freezing.

On the higher mountains the first snow has fallen, but here around this meander of river the last colors of autumn are resisting. I think it deserved a photo.

Sulle montagne più alte è caduta la prima neve, ma intorno a questo meandro del fiume resistono le ultime cromie autunnali; credo meritassero una foto.

I had left a coffee cup out on the patio last night. It rained and of course I had to get some droplets.

I will be leaving in the wee hours of the morning for Seattle. My brother's memorial. Time permitting I will try to get up with all of you.

Thanks in advance for any comments!!!

Happy Fence Friday!

I know, I know this image is probably more about this rather sleepy female Snowy Owl who hasn't left yet for the far North.... but she is on a fencepost.

Nature is an Artist theme - HSoS & HCS!

School is out for summer, the weather is hot; time for some fun with a boat on the river, everybody will be wet. How cool is that!

Western reef egret take off sequence - first click. I had the camera focused on him and ready when he took off for a short flight. I shot off a burst, and three images came out decent. This is the first one.

120 Pictures for 2020 "On the Go" . I think this works. Red-winged blackbirds - looks like all males. Maybe two females. For sure one juvie.

Our first long walk of the holiday was on a murky cloudy Sunday morning . We climbed up from Dent up the steep Flinters Gill . We were hoping to see the waterfall but it had dried up for the time being . We walked across Town Fell before a steep decent down Barbondale to the Dentdale valley . While the valley bottom is green and quite gentle once you get up on the Fell its a much less bucolic landscape particularly in the mist and low cloud

This was taken on the fell looking towards Barbondale . I think the camera image makes it look brighter than it was. We met one other walker on the trip he and his two dogs were doing the same walk in reverse

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM. I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO WITHOUT ALSO LEAVING A COMMENT .

- Keefer Lake, Ontario, Canada -

There are no reflections to be photographed at Keefer Lake just now ... we still have a thick layer of ice and a meter of snow on top of that ... c'mon Spring!

In this shot you can see the reflections of the vegetation growing on the bank of a stream.

Is a new month and you know what that means! It is time for Sway’s Spotlight item. This month Sway is featuring this totes cute lifeguard chair. The chair is 100% mesh, comes with 12 single animations and friends animations for up to 2 avatars. I am actually using one of the single animations in the chair in this picture, my arms position is slightly altered due to the text back cell phone from e.maire, but otherwise this and many other poses work great. The chairs also come in 4 different designs: Plain, white, blue stripes, red stripes and here in this picture is the ships wheel. The pillow also has 5 different texture options. There are lots of opportunities to mix and match and really make this chair fit almost any scene you want. Did I mention it is item is 50% off to all of Sway’s V.I.P. members?? Not a member ok, you can snag this for 15% off. This is a 1 month long spotlight, each month it changes, so you have till July 5th. Don’t miss out on this opportunity

Head on over to my blog to get the link to go get your chair: justapeeksite.wordpress.com/2018/06/09/peek-153/

Great Gray Owl on the hunt. I love environmental shots like the one I posted yesterday. Seeing the subject in its natural surroundings is my preference as it gives us a sense of its size and the space in which it dwells. With that being said, I will certainly never complain when it decides to hunt close. Frame-filling shots like this give us an opportunity to study the beautiful plumage up close and observe the intense look on the face as the owl is focused on locating its prey. Oh...and my personal favorite...those legs. I just looove those legs.

Earth Star (Geastrales)

Also seen this morning. This one was on its side, no doubt disturbed by by the Blackbirds looking for worms. It has been great to see so many Earth Stars this year.

Early morning fishing for Blue Heron. Unfortunately nothing much captured on this frigid morning.

Beautiful Trees on Lake Michigan Beach. I love this place because it's unique. It changes its beauty everyday, sometimes full of ice and sometimes just nothing.
