Sometimes we drift away from the true art and form of nature. We get enthralled by painters, photographers, writers, and philosophers, and we forget to stop and look at what is available to us every single day of our lives. Nature. The perfect designs of nature are here for us to freely enjoy! There is no better composition, capture of light, showcasing of details than can be found in nature itself. Take a walk today and be sure to study the details of a flower, the bark on a tree, the markings on a pebble. Be entrhalled over what you see because no artist can improve the natural perfection that you can see right before your very eyes! Enjoy all of life, especially those gifts found in nature that are ours to freely enoy any time we so desire!
NOTE: Thanks so much for your many visits, comments, invites, and most especially for your friendship. I'll be off and on for the next day yet, but will be sure to catch up with each of you!!! Enjoy your day!
This woody was banging away at this tree for most of the afternoon! He was pretty high up, but with this 30/60 clear zoom on the Sony HX200V I was able to get a pretty good shot!
Pebble Beach CA - The Lone Cypress sits atop a rocky outcropping overlooking the Paciific ocean. This is one of the oldest living Monterey Cypress at approximately 275 years old and is one of the most famous trees in the world.

Little Owl / athene noctua. Lincolnshire. 11/07/16.
One of the parent Little Owls inside the derelict barn that had been its chosen nesting site this season. My second attempt at wide angle flash photography. BEST VIEWED LARGE.
* (All the young fledged successfully and were exploring the many hiding places the barn complex offered. Great for them...a tad frustrating for me with the flash set on a specific perching area!)
My wife freaked out a little when I was shooting this old Juniper on the Sonora Pass. The only way to get it with the sky behind it instead of the hills, was to stand in the road around a blind curve. For some reason she didn't like it when I asked her to "Listen for cars, honey".

After over 100 years it's time to go. Because of static problems, the two old oaks must be cut down. The part of the tree on the right corner is lifted up by a second crane.

I talk to the trees
But they don't listen to me
I talk to the stars
But they never hear me
The breeze hasn't time
To stop, and hear what I say
I talk to them all
In vain
But suddenly, my words
Reach someone elses ear
At someone elses heart
Strings too
I tell you my dreams
And while you're listening to me
I suddenly see them
Come true
I can see us some April night
Looking out across a rollin' farm
Having supper in the candlelight
Walking later, arm in arm
Then I'll tell you
How I pass the day
Thinking mainly how
The night would be
Then I'll try to find
The words to say
All the things you
Mean to me
I tell you my dreams
And while you're
Listening to me
I suddenly see them
Come true........

The Baginton Oak, Warwickshire, reputed to be 350 years old.
There is also a pub in the village with the same name, but I don't think it's as old! LOL
Today was my day to relax and where did I go?, you guessed it back to the stretch of coastline between Murrays Beach and the boat ramp where my collapsing cliff is. For the past 2-3 weeks we are having the lowest tides I have ever seen in 20 years so hiking should be easy. This is my first stop at the boat ramp and to say hi to the old tree she is a beauty the walkway is fairly new though. so after a couple snaps I turn left and off I go

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.
I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called "Yellow."
So then I took my turn,
Oh what a thing to have done,
And it was all "Yellow."
Your skin
Oh yeah, your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
You know, you know I love you so,
You know I love you so.
I swam across,
I jumped across for you,
Oh what a thing to do.
Cos you were all "Yellow,"
I drew a line,
I drew a line for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
And it was all "Yellow."
Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
And you know for you,
I'd bleed myself dry for you,
I'd bleed myself dry.
It's true, look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Standing tall for over seven centuries, the Bayan Ancient Tree in Bali is a breathtaking symbol of nature’s resilience and grandeur. Located near the village of Gesing in Tabanan, this sacred tree is often mistaken for a eucalyptus due to its massive roots and smooth, towering trunk—but it’s actually a type of Ficus benghalensis, or banyan tree.
Revered by locals and surrounded by spiritual stories, this tree is not only a natural wonder but also a cultural icon. Capturing its full scale from this low angle truly reveals its awe-inspiring height and powerful presence.

In my "hood", watched this old tree grow moss over the years. Always admired her. Enjoy your weekend!

This is the other side of the road from the preceding picture. CA Hwy 395 between Ridgecrest and Bishop is a most beautiful route. There are ranches all along and views like this of the east face of the Sierra Nevada.
I wonder how long this old fella tree has been standing there braving the winds and snow.
