This pathway is on the property on Hayfield Farm previously owned by the Conyngham family - my all time favorite place to spend time with my camera.
Oriental Plane Tree, Westgate Gardens, Canterbury, Kent UK
Reputed to be 200 years old. According to local legend, the tree once swallowed a metal bench - no wonder the trunk is so huge!

I walk the same city street and little alleys all the time and yet on this day I almost bypased this again. Yet the corner of me eye saved the moment. This door appeared with wondeful color and newly created framing. SOmeone added some grafitti and a deadbolt. Then the an old holiday tree was toss in front of the whole image. I thought WO what creativity! But this was not the making of a single percon or action. Interesting ! HCS! Have a great weekend!

But there was some good news … Ssome of the oldest and rarest trees knocked in Limerick’s People’s Park by Storm Darwin are being given a new lease of life by being transformed into works of art.
It is nice to see that they have found ways to use old trees.

But there was some good news … some of the oldest and rarest trees knocked in Limerick’s People’s Park by Storm Darwin are being given a new lease of life by being transformed into works of art.
Sadly one of the rarest trees in the park, an ornamental tree called a ‘Tetradium Danielli” which was about 80 or 90 years old was destroyed in the storm. The tree in question is commonly called a ‘Bee Bee’ tree as it is covered in late July and August with masses of small white flowers which attracts large numbers of bees as a source of late summer honey. Prk management had a chat with Zambian woodcarver Paradazi Havatyitye and as a result he carved three beautiful bees in the remaining stump.

I hate when he keeps his sunglasses on, it makes people impersonal, but somehow it worked this time.
I think this tree is very old beacause it is bigger then the other tree and there is a lot of vines.I think there is a condo or a apartment behind it.

Another sap bucket, you ask? I collect as many as I can store and fill with blooms. This one is filled with houseplants and flourishes on a porch under the shade of a very old tree in our back yard. wwwcutepinkstuffcom.blogspot.com/.
The Sissoo trees stand 61 years in the north of Iben Gavirol street and give a lot of shade in the summer. Following renovations in the street, the municipality intends to uproot the trees from its location and plant young trees instead. All trees were marked with numbers last week to get ready for the uproot.
BTW - The palm tree you see behind will be uprooted as well.
Sadly, a very large old tree in our neighborhood (and I'm not sure how many others) lost its battle with Irene last night. We lost a limb from an old elm tree and it seems that water got into a small crack in an archway made by the earthquake earlier in the week but things could have been a lot worse. Glad it's over and I hope we've seen the last of nature's power for a while.
