Zamalek (also known as the Gezira Island) is one of Cairo’s well known Islands for it’s greenery and beautiful trees. The residential island has some very beautiful streets, old buildings, and villas making the Island one of Cairo’s favorite locations for expatriates.
This shoot was taken on a quiet street near the famous Cairo Tower which is one of Africa’s tallest structures and a must visit for tourists in Cairo as you can see a beautiful view of the entire city. Some of the very old beautiful trees of Zamalek can be seen in the pictures.
My third outfit collaboration with Vichi (Egypt’s finest streetstyle blog) and Cairo’s famous Sixtynine (A store who has a branch also in Zamalek with some great stuff) shot by my favorite fashion photographer Abu Samra.
I was wearing this gorgeous silver top that feels like a sweater from the inside (jersey material kind of). Since it’s a bit long I styled it with this black skirt toning the whole silver mood a bit down since it’s a day time outfit I didn’t want it to be too flashy.

Central Park in Davis California is a childhood memory lane for me, lined with Plane Trees, Black Walnuts, California Redwoods, and many more old heritage trees.
The tour guide told us this was the oldest tree on Thomas Jefferson's property.

I am never happy about trees being cut down but in this instance I do not know the full story and may never do so.
Having read the news about the petition I decided to visit Fairview to see what the fuss was about and also it was a good excuse to visit the area.
According to one local that I spoke to the City Council is planning to remove about fifty trees in order to make way for a new cycle path but a second lady explained that as the trees will be replaced by the Corpo [Dublin City Council] she was not interested in the petition.
As the planting began in 1906 some of the trees are over a hundred years old and according to the City Council officials some of the older trees are distressed because of restricted growing space and need to be felled regardless of their plans for a cycleway.
On the main Fairview road there is a large number of trees marked with yellow bands and I assume that these are the trees destined for the chop. However, according to some online accounts it is the trees along the park’s main footpath that are under threat. I think that some reports have used stock photographs of random trees in the park.
By the way the Irish Times are not in favour of the petition see: www.irishtimes.com/opinion/fairview-trees-row-shows-why-d...
This neighbor turned his large and old tree into the veins of a heart, used red lights to light the under the tree to show it's beautiful width and veins, and played the audio of a heart beating. It was beautiful. My Neighborhood has become famous! Halloween in University Heights, San DIego, California, 2014
Used a grad .3 Lee filter

Hey girl! Sorry it's taken me a bit to get back to you but things have been a bit muddled around here. I've received news that one of my little sisters wants to come stay with me instead of the grandparents. Which means that the other two are surely going to follow soon. I need the older girls to come back to help with the tiny girls though.
OMG!! What awesome news!! You are moving in together??? I'm really happy for you and you'll have to let me know how that works out! I'm sorry to hear that his dad has to leave for more training though especially during the holiday season. *laughs* Naturally things never happen on schedule! I'm sure you two will make it through this change seamlessly. I'm almost a tiny bit jealous of the two of you. ;)
Hahaha! Guys are so funny! I'm not surprised that you forgot about his gift but I'm glad he like it. What guy wouldn't?
Thanks and I'm sorry Logan couldn't make it for Thanksgiving. I ended up ordering Chinese take out which was yummy but strange. I'm hoping for a nicer Christmas dinner.
Yes, I'm definitely getting him something. Not sure what yet but I'm thinking an iPhone so he can stay in touch with me! A bit selfserving, I know! But he said that he should be home in the next week or by early next week!
LOL! I'm always willing to brainstorm about shopping! Or share any links that I have. Do you have any ideas what to get for him yet? There is always guy cave stuff...tvs, electronics, games.
Write back when you can!
Hugs,
October
They're small, but these gnarled bur oaks may actually be quite old. Lee Frelich, forest ecologist with the University of Minnesota Department of Forest Resources, estimates the ages of the bur oaks at about 150 yrs. (See comments)

its neat to walk through a cemetery and come across family names that are part of the area's history.
This is the other side of the tree in the previous post...with the same treatment...producing a different creation...I had so much fun with this, I can't wait to show you what came out of the top of the tree!
With love

Ross Rapid Symmetrical lens 9x7 size f 9. Ross started making the Rapid Symmetrical from c1874 in a good range of sizes. Taken at f 17 (No.4 stop), at this aperture edge fall-off is still considerable.
ancient sweet chestnut tree. It can be found encircled by a small fence on the drive to Temple Newsam House, in the Leeds City Council-owned Temple Newsam park. It’s thought to be 350 years old, and local folklore says it’s one of two trees that were planted in memorial of two still-born infants
we went for a drive to clear our minds and ignore our chores. we ended up in Lebanon and I felt as if I had slipped back in time. I struggled to stay, but alas, it really is 2008. hmph!
Sarv-e-Abarqu ("cyprus of Abarqu"), also called the Zoroastrian Sarv, is a cypress tree in Abarqu, Yazd, Iran. It is an Iranian national monument and major tourist attraction. It is over four thousand years old and may be the oldest living thing in Asia.

These acacia trees that line the sides of the road going to Carcar, Cebu are said to be more than a century old.
A wedding was being shot at the manor when we were there and Helena thought that the bride was a real princess. Helena kept trying to run over to the bride while the photographer was posing bride and groom shots. She was really upset that she couldn't go play with the "priincess". The wedding party loved Helena and the limo driver gave her one of the plastic flowers from the car.
Britains tallest London Plane tree that is around 123 feet in height and is over 200 years old. Seen at Carshalton Ponds. See photo of plaque for full details of this tree. 31/07/11.
This is my friend photographer, Felipe Cabrera, creeping into the frame. It was a very interesting tree, full of knots that showed signs of times passed. We came across this tree during our recent trip to a couple of Pennsylvania State Parks.

Beautiful pink blossoms on an old cherry blossom tree: this year I tried experimenting with more distant photos rather than focussing on close-up shots. The contrast between the blue sky and the pink blossoms was fabulous!
