Saratoga is a city in Santa Clara County in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. According to the 2010 census the city's population was 29, 926.
This old tree stands in downtown Saratoga.

I wanted to take a photo of the tree without all the people looking at it, so i took 6 shots and stitched them together.
This set of images were taken in a remote park in Osceola County and is not widely known. I only saw about one third of it but you can bet I'll go back again.
This tree looks like a giant catapult. A larger version of the small catapult we used to hurl stones with. Plus I wanted to capture the beautiful clouds.
This is a magnificent 400 year Old Ceiba Tree in Vieques, Puerto Rico.
The island itself is gorgeous. I will try & post more up in the series.
We made it to come to this old, historical, stunning and charismatic Ta Prohm, it was really amazing and still is. I am very happy that I've seen this in my life. One more list done from "1001 things to do before I die"
Last day of my holiday, so a 2.5hour walk in the New Forest with the dogs. I love this grand old tree, it must be 2 or 3 hundred years old but had the good sense not to grow any branches suitable for ship building.

Agathis australis - New Zealand Kauri,Kauri,Southern Kauri
Family : Araucariaceae
At between 2000 and 3000 years old Te Matua Ngahere is the 2nd Largest Agathis australis -(Southern Kauri) in New Zealand and effectively - the world, having the
biggest Kauri girth of - 16.41m and the 2nd biggest trunk volume - 208.1Cubic Metres. Compared to the tallest Kauri,it is just over half Tane Mahuta's
height - 29.9m (Trunk Height - 10.21m.)
Although not as tall as Tane Mahuta (51.5m) "Lord of the Forest", Te Matua Ngahere "Father of the Forest" is much broader and stouter.
At 208.1Cubic Metres compared to Tane Mahuta's massive volume of 244.5 cubic metres Te Matua Ngahere is second in overal size to Tane Mahuta.
Te Matua Ngahere suffered serious crown damage in 2007 after a storm.

Regretably in recent times New Zealand's iconic Agathis australis trees are in trouble from an introduced pathogenic fungus called Phytophthora - left unchecked it has the potential to wipe the species out.

I'm not sure what kind of mushroom is this but in any case they were already quite dry and hard. [ EDIT: I found out what this mushroom is called Fomes fomentarius] I loved the way they looked on the tree trunk.

The Hallidays Point region of the NSW Mid North Coast still has areas of coastal Tallowwood, Iron Bark,Turpentine,Grey Gum, Brush Box, White and Red Mahogany and also Coastal Blackbutt despite well over a hundred years of clearing firstly for forestry, then dairying and grazing and more recently rampant coastal rural acreage developments as well as burgeoning tourism infrastructure growth.
This old blackbutt tree at Diamond Beach stands alone as a representative of how large some of these trees once were.
These days coastal old growth like this is quickly removed as coastal urban expansion brings old trees closer to people with the consequent liability issues forcing their destruction.
There are now few such trees left in most areas.
This white oak is about 300 years old and 19 feet (6 meters) in diameter. One of the largest trees on the Appalachian Trail.

A tree that is both dead, and reborn. Old and new.
I love the colors of nature in winter, and this is accentuated by the snow.
El Tejo de Barondillo es uno de los árboles más viejos de la Península Ibérica con una edad de entre 1500 - 1800 años, en realidad se trata de una teja (femenino) y por tanto da fruto. Está protegido como ejemplar singular.
Los tejos son considerados desde la antigüedad árboles místicos asociados a druidas y brujas, era común plantarlos en cementerios.
Se trata de árboles tóxicos en todas sus partes menos en el fruto pero no así en la semilla. Su madera es muy preciada, un poste de madera de Tejo se considera incluso mas resistente que uno de acero, por ello han sido talados y debido también a su lento crecimiento han sido llevados prácticamente a la desaparición. Hoy en día se encuentran protegidos y es difícil encontrarlos en su hábitat natural a excepción de jardines, cementerios...
