What better place for a spirit house than in the very old banyan tree standing by the Perfume River.

For westerners who have never seen a spirit house, to me, they represent the charm of Asia. They are miniature houses seen all over that are shelters for the spirits to bring them happiness. Items, also in miniature, are placed inside such as Joss Sticks, food and drink.

They just become one with everything...😊🌳

A brown-headed nuthatch pausing on a tree trunk.

While hiking through the Middle Fork forest I came upon this small pond surround by lush mossy stones. To me, although not grandiose in its beauty, it was such beautiful sight to behold on a mid Winter day.

Traveling Light

I'm traveling light

It's au revoir

My once so bright

My fallen star

I'm running late

They'll close the bar

I used to play

One mean guitar

I guess I'm just

Somebody who

Has given up

On the me and you

I'm not alone

I've met a few

Traveling light like

We used to do

(Lala, lalalala, lala, lalalala)

Goodnight goodnight

My fallen star

I guess you're right

You always are

I know you're right

About the blues

You live some life

You'd never choose..........DIGITAL CAMERA

Update to an old favourite. This is what remains of an old pine tree perched on a very rocky hill. It is a place some locals visit daily to bid the tree a good day. Word has it, that it was alive until about 16 years ago. It’s a spot that has a remarkable peacefulness, and I love going there.

Thank you for viewing this photo.

My Flickr friend Jake took me to the location of this old oak tree in a field at Hunston, Chichester, West Sussex.

The tree was damaged many years ago by lightning but is still standing and makes a wonderful silhouette against the last of the sunset.

SOOC. See! We do get some color change here in Florida.

Norway's second largest tree (diameter), approx 1000 years old oak.

I woke up at about 1:00 and looked outside. Seeing the Milky Way I decided to take my mope to the darkest photo spot on the island. About 30 minutes into taking photos a border patrol agent pulled up with his lights on and asked for an ID. I told him I lived about a mile away and he would have to follow me to my house to get an ID. He ran my plates and then asked to see my photos. When I showed him the photos he said that he had never noticed the Milky Way before until I pointed it out to him. I asked him if I was breaking any laws or ordinances and he said that I wasn't. I personally think he drives back in that spot to sleep at night and he just wanted to hassle me enough that I would call it a night. Unfortunately, the moped didn't start and I had to walk it about a mile home. The officer never left that spot. I am confident that he sleeps in his car there.
