An old mossy tree sits in a foggy forest. Polypores grow up one side, and mushrooms sprout from the ground around it. This tree has been here a very long time. With the vague image of a face in it's bark, it has earned the name of "The Old Man".
bit like looking into a fire coals and imagining shapes, touch of the contorted shapes of 'Guernica' twisting and gasping! I can imagine them, the faces of ancient monsters of the fallen oak.

I don't recall the name of my drink on the right, it was basically a brandy hot toddy (influence for my binge last night) - brandy, hot water, lemon, cloves, cinnamon, honey. Joe's drink on the left was called "Old Oak" and was made from a nice blended Scotch...very oaky indeed! I liked it lots.

Here's me and Amy at her wedding. She looks so beautiful.
Oh, and my dress is handmade in Uganda from fabrics I bought in the Democratic Republic of Congo
We got off the Sherwood Forester bus from Nottingham and this tree immediately took my attention, its straddles two car parks. It set the scene for the sights to come. There is no doubt, this tree belongs here and it will be great when they re-site the car park and visitor centre.

A windstorm on 4 July 2003 knocked down many trees around Hyde Park, including this on the 5700 block of S Kenwood and a massive, 300-year-old tree on Wooded Isle that was, until then, among Chicago's oldest.
Somehow, this reminded me of the wolf "huffing and puffing" at the little pig's brick house -- maybe because I grew up amongst wooden houses in hurricane country.
at a crossroads
the past life waiting
Under blue white skies
a strange house
grown old
while the lillies watched

the osprey was very nervous and agitated, but he hung on to his prize catch and continued having his dinner though he had a lot of distractions, the fish was still live, the crows were trying to steal his dinner and then to make matters worse I was at the window with my camera... please also see the two pictures below for the complete story....
