Mais um felino que posou para mim. Ele ou ela estava cuidando de seu séquito enquanto furtivamente me aproximei e tirei algumas fotos. Essa foi a melhor foto do rei.
Another cat that posed for me. He or She was taking care of his entourage while stealthily I approached and took some pictures. This was the best picture of the king.
Malcolm has had a hard live, my friend Jonny got him after his previous owner tired of him. Nobody knows how old he is but when he arrived in Jonny's life he had already been blinded in one eye and had limited mobility thanks to being shot in the spine at some point with an air-rifle. Over the next year or so of living with Jonny his coat returned to it's (assumed) former glory, Malcolm also relaxed and made friends with every visitor to the house. In mid 2008 Malcolm had a leg removed after being diagnosed with cancer, and much like everything else that has befallen him in his life (like losing all his teeth) Malcolm didn't appear to let it get him down in the slightest, he just continued living his quiet but stately and dignified life. A morning stroll in the garden and an ever welcome lap appeared to be all Malcolm required in life to be fully satisfied.
I took these photos a few minutes before Malcolm was due at the vets, sadly the vet thinks he may be cancer again as he is having trouble breathing. Some cats have all the luck, some cats are like Malcolm, but it's proof that there's often a happy ending in store, no matter how crappy your life has been! Malcolm has had a fantastic retirement with Jonny.
Rusty and I toyed with the idea of joining the 52 Weeks for Cats project. The plan would be to post a photo of her every week for a year. But, in the end, Rusty's logic prevailed. She said "What's the point of posting 52 identical photos of me resting or sleeping? Wait until I'm gone and you get a youngster to replace me".
Well, that was a little sad to think about but good advice just the same.
This is now Tigr's favorite spot. She doesn't get off if I lie next to her. In fact, I think she likes that.
She was sleeping seconds before I took this. Seconds later, she went back to sleep. Nothing bothers her very much.
I think you can get an idea of how small she is. She lost her tail when she was two due to injuries. That makes her even smaller.
I found her in the street when she was badly injured, perhaps from an attack by a dog or larger cat. The Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital of the ASPCA nursed her back to health. I then decided t adopt her. Smart move!
One of the cat that lives with our hosts in Dartmouth MA, he's quite probably the oldest cat in Massachusetts!
Veronica is a senior cat at the Montclair Animal Shelter, she's beleived to be 11 or 12 years old but has the looks and charm of a cat a 12th of her age. Older cats sometimes find themselves in shelters when their owners pass or have other issues that mean they cannot care for a pet. Elder cats are treated just like everyone else - and Veronica enjoys the run of the big cat room. She's a stunner!

I never got to know Kitty, even though the shop she spent her days at is just across from the bus stop we lay up at. I was saddened to hear of her passing :(
Helensville | New Zealand
in his 20th year now and his age is beginning to become a factor although he is still as mischievious as ever and a regular in the 'naughty corner' so we're making the most of this true "Aristocat"
Moon's ears are chopped off in this photo, but it still turned out reasonably well, certainly better than the 20 other photos I shot of him that day !
A friend's cat. She's 16 years old, pretty much blind but she could sense the strobes and was getting irritated after a while. I only took about a dozen photos in five minutes or less.
Strobist: White shoot through umbrella three feet to camera left and three feet up and from subject, second back / rim light to camera right up a bit higher and 'bare bulb" SB800's on each, fired with ebay triggers.

*Silver has been ADOPTED!!
Silver was a temporary resident of the Oakville Humane Society in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
Silver came into the shelter as a stray in October of 2008. He had originally been adopted from us in 2007 so despite his coming in as a stray we know a little bit about his history. Silver is a wonderful boy; sweet, quiet and cuddly. He's looking for a cozy and calm retirement home where he can spend his time napping in sunbeams and curling up on a warm lap. Silver has a few special medical needs that his new family should be aware of. He is prone to allergies and is quite reactive to fleabites and also has eosinophillic granuloma complex which is an inflammatory skin disease that can cause skin lesions. This is often related to allergies and currently he eats a special Hypoallergenic food and does very well on it. He also has a heart murmur but ultrasound shows that it's not causing any problems right now. Silver should live with a family who is dedicated to regular vet care and they should be prepared for possible extra expenses as he may require more frequent check ups than your average cat. He also needs a home that is committed to keeping him strictly indoors. Although he may need a little bit of extra TLC, Silver gives you back lots of love in return for all the care he gets!
