Marmola was a thyroid substance marketed by known fraud Edward D. Hayes. The side effects were not so good:
Marmola may cause a user to drop dead, or cripple control [of] his heart, unless a physician stands by to control the dosage and reduction in weight. (from Time Magazine, 1935)
It was way in to the Railway Works.
Built in 1871 by Joseph Armstrong to give employees safe access to the Works and prevent injuries and deaths from having to cross the main railway line, the tunnel is 380ft (115.8m) long and passes beneath what were the Carriage Works and the main line. At one time iron turnstiles were used to regulate the workers who passed through the tunnel each day. However these were later removed to allow light vehicles the use of the tunnel.
The tunnel now acts as a link between the northern site of the Great Western Historic Area and the town centre of what was New Swindon.
Sometimes in our lives, We all have pain ,We all have sorrow...
But if we are wise, We know that there's Always tomorrow..

With its Indiana limestone and classical façade, Old Indianapolis City Hall was intended to symbolize the stability and achievements of the city. Construction of the Federal Building in 1903–05 set the standard for new governmental buildings in downtown Indianapolis. City offices were housed in several different locations in 1906 when Mayor Charles Bookwalter called for consolidating them in a fitting building. Indianapolis architects Rubush & Hunter won the contract for the new building, completed in 1910.
Four-stories high, with a veneer of Indiana limestone, the new city hall reflected City Beautiful Classicism. Engaged 2-story high Roman Doric columns gave the exterior its monumental character. The interior has a grand rotunda with stained glass dome. Some of the columns are real marble. Others are scagliola, a kind of imitation marble made on plaster with special painting techniques. The circular rotunda extends upward three levels.
The mayor’s suite was on the second floor and he had a “secret stairway” which lead from the mayor’s office to the first floor.
Indianapolis city government moved to the City-County Building in 1962.
The Indiana State Museum occupied the building from 1967-2001. After the new Indiana State Museum opened in 2002, the Old Indiana City Hall was briefly vacant. The Indianapolis, Marion County Public Library system began work on a vast addition to the Central Library at that time. City officials turned old City Hall over to the library board to use as Interim Central Library until 2008.
The building is vacant again and in need of a use.
One small section of a whole drawer full of paintbrushes - oil, acrylic, watercolor. The sun was falling on them nicely when I opened it up, so I just curated a little set of them right in the drawer, getting a range of shapes and paint color residues.
I used the old micro-Nikkor 105mm f/4 that belonged to my father, shooting at f/32 in full sunlight, adding a tinfoil-wrapped-around-a-plate reflector in the back for some extra glow.
