Less than 24 hours before we inaugurate our new president and usher in history for our country. I played around in sandbox in picnik with a photo of a clock I had taken when I was at the hospital for my preop stuff. LOL yes....I was taking pictures in the waiting room.....hope you can see the clock in the change made to the face and color of it. I thought changing the appearance was appropriate :)

Also, please stop by and wish a good friend of mine, Cheroberta, a happy birthday!

Ugly sheep near Baladou, Lot, France.

Mouton laid près de Baladou, Lot, France.

I cursed Amber when she posted pictures of all of her beautiful yarn wreaths because I knew I would want to create one. Then Geninne posted a tutorial on how she makes her wonderful little birds and I lost the battle to add this to my to do list for 2011.

We finally got the shelves put in in the front room! This *almost* wraps up my year long renovation of the front room of our house. Here we've put some of our books and computers in their new areas.

I'm sure I'll have to re-arrange the books a few times before I'm happy with them.

Yay!

I dedicate this picture to you ;-)

Acrylic and metallic acrylic on poplar

6 x 10 1/2 x 3/4 inches

This pistol made me laugh more than once as I worked on it in my living room. The metallic acrylic is such a bitch to build up to opacity; it took at least twice as many layers as regular acrylic to get a solid coat. But man alive is it worth it :)

I was going to call this one Gold n' Ivory until I made the Etsy listing for it and then BAM I thought of Milk and Honey. Sooooo much better! XD

Some of Grandma's lace. So delicate and old school. I can crochet, but I never learned to tat.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, I just started my new job on Monday. 8-8

We're working on the two knit sweaters with the bow lace applique now (2 for each size). We've got a few pointelle knit sweaters (limited to 5 for each size) with the black lace at the collar and lace shorts (standard item)! :> Once we've got more done, I'll get down to the promotional photoshoot! Ironweed specialist. Well at least the female is a specialist in that she feeds here babies the bright white pollen of this group of plants. If you plant Ironweed in your garden Melissodes denticulatus will show up they are that common (ironweed is common too). The male is distinctive because it has pale offwhite instead of yellow markings on its face and those markings don't go all the way to the upper sutures of the clypeus. ... but you knew that. We Are Made One with What We Touch and See

We are resolved into the supreme air,

We are made one with what we touch and see,

With our heart's blood each crimson sun is fair,

With our young lives each spring impassioned tree

Flames into green, the wildest beasts that range

The moor our kinsmen are, all life is one, and all is change.

Red and off-white columbine

Taken for Our daily Challenge "Zipper" theme with Nikon D60+85mm Micro Nikkor lens

Dame Julian of Norwich (whom Merton called “the greatest English theologian”), put it, “The soul can do no more than seek, suffer, and trust.” 1 And it is the seeking that is our primary responsibility—the willing, the wanting, the yearning, and the longing. It is this seeking, this intention, that ought to be the human’s first priority—above all else.

-Merton’s Love Affair with the Unknown; Fr. John-Julian, O.J.N.

A bowl of wool heart ornaments inspired by the moss-covered poplars in our woods. They're an off-white with an olive green blanket stitching.

I made these out of a wool cabled sweater that I had felted. I've stuffed their insides with leftover wool and added a jute loop for hanging.

I'm trying to make a set of hearts each night and these were last night's before-bed sewing project.

At night, just to improve a bit my self-esteem.
