When Tiny heard he was not allowed on this photo because of his white fur, he started to eat lots of carrots at least 3 times daily. When his fluffy fur was more orange than offwhite I simply had to take this photo of an orange satin ribbon, a piece of orange organza fabrics, as well as my orange Tiny - all resting on a black box. Then Tiny insisted on a frame around this photo to be nailed on the wall. Not so easy to handle tiny teddies ....

Ivory curl flower, Buckinghamia celsissima. This species is a tree native to rainforests in Queensland where it may reach 100m in height. These flowers are from a street tree in Sydney, Australia, that is only about 3.5m tall.

The flowers look superficially like spider flowers, Grevillea sp. Buckinghamia like Grevillea is in the family Proteaceae.

Took this the other day when Lis and I were doing our dippy (see below) -

the white flowers looked best with her shot because the purple was a little

distracting from the bottle (which was what my shot was about) - but thought

these were too pretty not to post!!

Hi Folks,

last week, when it was again Saturday night and time for SEVEN to go home, we had to make sure he arrived home safe and sound. LUNA and I took him back to his family. There we met Mr. Seven senior and SEVEN’s elder brother. Today Mr. Seven was in a better mood and delighted to see that his youngest son is following the rules. He kindly invited us to take a seat on his back, which was similar to sitting on a very comfortable offwhite sofa. ‘Seven the Great’, as his big brother was called, was curious to know what our picnic was like and he let us know that next time he would be happy to be invited to this event, too….Time for us now to go back to our Teddy Bear Clan!

There are four polar bears here at Highland Wildlife Park – Walker, Arktos, Victoria and her cub, Brodie, who was born in December 2021.

Walker was born in December 2008 and while Arktos was born in November 2007. Victoria, the UK's only female polar bear, was born in December 1996. In December 2017 we were thrilled to welcome Hamish, the first polar bear born in the UK in 25 years who left the park in November 2020.

The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is a hypercarnivorous bear whose native range lies largely within the Arctic Circle, encompassing the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and surrounding land masses. It is the largest extant bear species, as well as the largest extant land carnivore.

A boar (adult male) weighs around 350–700 kg (770–1,540 lb), while a sow (adult female) is about half that size. Although it is the sister species of the brown bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrower ecological niche, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice and open water, and for hunting seals, which make up most of its diet. Although most polar bears are born on land, they spend most of their time on the sea ice. Their scientific name means "maritime bear" and derives from this fact. Polar bears hunt their preferred food of seals from the edge of sea ice, often living off fat reserves when no sea ice is present. Because of their dependence on the sea ice, polar bears are classified as marine mammals.

Because of expected habitat loss caused by climate change, the polar bear is classified as a vulnerable species. For decades, large-scale hunting raised international concern for the future of the species, but populations rebounded after controls and quotas began to take effect.[ For thousands of years, the polar bear has been a key figure in the material, spiritual, and cultural life of circumpolar peoples, and polar bears remain important in their cultures. Historically, the polar bear has also been known as the "white bear". It is sometimes referred to as the "nanook", based on the Inuit term nanuq.

Ivory Rose Meaning: Charm, Luxury and Elegance

Ivory while similar, is an offwhite color that appears a shade darker. Commonly thought of as a cream or eggshell color, ivory roses are often used to make an elegant presentation and can provide a calming vibe and sense of luxury. The ivory color also represents charm and can be a great gift for someone with exquisite taste and style. This color meaning would be a great selection for letting someone know you care, without romantic intentions.
