I was standing across the street from the entrance to Medgar Evers Pool in the Central District, just watching this skater working out his moves up the sloped wall. I'm sure the architecht didn't have this use in mind when planing the exterior facade, and I found it refreshing that this use seems welcome. It is quite common and no one has put up any skate clips to prevent it. When this guy finished, a couple 8 or 9 year olds tried out their skills.

"This photograph was made in an outdoor market in Tepoztlan, Mexico. The vendor's table was spread
with fresh vegetables, and this creative arrangement of calla lilies and onions served as a centerpiece."

Michael Jackson's youthful, friendly, human eyes have been staring at me when I sit at my computer desk for over a month now. His "Off The Wall" album just happens to be sitting at the very front of my record collection. It was the last vinyl album I had played just a couple of weeks prior to hearing the sad news he had died. When I first noticed it after hearing the news, it felt a bit bizarre - and I was half expecting him to come back to life as I took some photos of the record and cover late one night.....
Believe it or not, since MJ passed away I haven't seen any TV tributes or news articles or read any newspaper or magazine articles about his death or funeral. Just as I never followed the stories (many of them plain bullshit) told about him when he was alive.
His music and what it means to so many people will be his main legacy (well, after all the jokes and the money!!).
Greg Brown is a painter and native of Palo Alto, California, best known for his trompe l'oeil murals in the San Francisco Bay area. He sprang into national prominence with his "Pedestrian series of 1976." The project included 9 trompe l'oeil figures/vignettes sprinkled throughout the downtown area of Palo Alto, California. This experience spawned a love affair with walls that continues to this day.
