The New Village at Patchogue project has emerged into the spring with accomplished milestones that include the completion of the Building 5 elevated structural post-tension slab and the breaking of ground for foundation at Building 4. These two structures will begin the vertical rise along Main Street and will place all of the five buildings in active progress. Building 1 is the Northeast building at the corner of Lake and No. Ocean and is topping out it framed units at the third floor. Building 2 has erected its initial section of the first floor and masonry structures have been completed as some of the stair and elevator shafts. Concrete systems are progressing toward completion of the main structural post-tension slab at the Building 2 & 3 connection and wood systems will follow along that same path. Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems are roughing at framed units.

External site work will move toward the installation of sub grade structures and utility distribution conduits to make way for the services that support the project.

I could tell by the large number of people drifting into the multipurpose room, there'd be leftovers free for the picking this afternoon. The well-groomed predominately young women were there to attend a meeting of a governmental public affairs spokesperson professional organization.

Sure enough, about the time I finished up my frozen chicken marsala entree, two four wheel buggies emerged loaded down with still-warm leftovers. I had already eaten, so I just went for the vicarious thrill. I ran upstairs and got my camera.

Before the big collapse there were many big projects going on in Iceland. One of it was this skyscraper which now stands empty near downtown Reykjavik. There are lot of new building like this around Reykjavik, empty or half finished. Anyone in need of office space?

New Village at Patchogue project has almost completed construction of all structures in their vertical rise. Roof trusses are topping off Buildings 3 and 4 to the West while Buildings 2, 1, and 5 are fully roofed. Siding systems at Buildings 2 and 1 are very far along with trim details at Decks being completed. The building elevations present many different features and with much in place, the true charm of the buildings is becoming evident.

Exterior site features are being prepared to accommodate parking lot, sidewalk and landscape features and interior features are becoming a primary focus in the move toward completed buildings.

Exterior Brick and Stone are commencing at Building 5 while these features are nearing completion already at Buildings 1 and 2.

The interior of Building 1 is being trimmed, painted and tiled with cabinetry and floorcovering features moving forward as well. Building 2 is currently being sheetrocked and similar progress is soon to follow at Building 5.

After months of not living in our house (kitchen was being done at same time... tough to have little ones in the house with no kitchen), we're back. We re-finished the basement (after gutting it) and now, for the first time in a year and a half... I have an office again.

Of course, there's no furniture in the budget right now, so I'm making due with what I had. But it's mine.
