Being intervied for Venus TV (what do you mean you've never heard of it?) whilst three giant bags of sweets bounced around me shouting "Bounce Your Balls For Cancer" was one of the more surreal moments in my life. This one wasn't so bouncy when she fell off though....
I was shooting without a flash that night, but someone else's flash went off at the exact moment I took this shot - the accidental off-camera lighting worked out great!

April 19, 2025: About 1500 "Hands Off!" protesters at the intersection of Lynn Road and Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks. This was one of many nationwide protests against President Trump's policies.
I took a quick spin by Parkway Center Mall today. It closed in January. The last time I was there was about a year ago. I remember it as a very little girl and there was a small pet store (if anyone has further information on this, let me know!)
It was eerie seeing it all closed finally. It's been dead for years.
Wood Ducks on Horsepen Bayou are notable because they are not particularly common but they are particularly skittish. I have become somewhat adept at identifying them by their butts at great distances. This series is of a group that apparently felt secure in their numerical superiority until I got close enough for them to realize I was bigger than all of them put together.
These Poppies are showing off another side of their beauty, still growing in my
garden.
Comments are very much appreciated. Please, no awards of the glittery kind, "post 1, comment 3" type & no multiple invitations in one comment - they will be deleted, sorry.
Also, please no notes. Thanks.
Great Blue Heron nesting site, right in the middle of a huge off-leash park for dogs. Each year, to minimize disturbance, they rope off the area in attempt to keep dogs and humans away .
