In the 1970s we lived for a few years in Wimbledon and we could see the roof of center court from our balcony.
In 1973 after a rain-soaked night of queuing on the pavement with Desi - with Kitty sleeping (sort of) next to us in our car. We just managed to get in to see the men's final getting literally last tickets on the day. It was really good that we could sneak back to our house if we needed something whilst queuing.
