They walk as if bouncing to the beat of a rhythmic tune without a care in the world but nothing could be less true. The Louisiana Waterthrush will defend its territory along a river, facing off, sometimes with mouth agape and with sharp, rapid beats of their wings. Although this male continued to forage almost uninterrupted and undaunted by my presence, there were occasions when he clearly felt I might be a threat. So as not to overstress the bird, I kept my distance and my visit time to a minimum. Still, it is a treat to have this family so close to my home. #LouisianaWaterthrush
Two mute swans take off. Only after I started photographing birds like this taking off did I realize that part of the process is running on the water. Seen at Lake Erie Metropark, near where the Detroit River meets Lake Erie.

Finishing-off the week's duties following return from the Swanage Diesel Gala, GBRf's 69007 gets a welcome airing upon 6Y48 Eastleigh-Hoo departmentals.
The previous week had shown Winchfield Cutting's familiar blooms well under way with this full display to later savour!
69007 hurries the service 8min ahead of schedule approaching Winchfield Station.

DB Tug 60007 departs Nottingham with surely one of the longest freight trains currently hauled on the rail network, the 10.34 Kingsbury Oil Sidings - Humber Oil Refinery (6E54) discharged tankers.

I had a bit of a photography block the last couple of days and with yesterdays photo it felt like I blew off the dust of my idea book and just started shooting again!
It's gonna be a very busy week so I'm not sure how creative this week will be, but on friday my holiday finally starts!

A new coat of red and it’s off to Japan to probably persuade more far eastern fans of Harry Potter to clog up Glenfinnan car parks.
A rare outing on a demonstration goods train at a P & D Railway Gala in August 1993, sees 4920 passing Broadsands caravan park.

NS train 255 and 256 the Kansas City/Detroit's roadrailer trains run across Americas heart and slice through mostly farm fields for its entire journey. After being hosed in Peru for hours 256 is cooking off the last few miles to Oakwood as it nears Cone MI on a frosty and dewy morning, My pants were anything but dry after this.

Carolina wrens are small but very vocal animals. Males are especially outgoing and are the only ones to produce songs. They employ one of the loudest songs per volume of birds. They are apt to sing anytime and anyplace they happen to be.
Carolina wrens are monogamous, and breeding pairs may stay together for years.
