Reddish Egret shaking the water off itself in the early morning light at J.N. Ding Darling NWR, Sanibel Island, Florida last Spring.
I stopped to take some pictures but, the only one I really liked at this location was the one I took of my truck. Go figure.

Flying over the Nef Glacier in a door off helicopter the long thin bright blue run-off stream flowing down glacier, caught my eye. Parque National Laguna San Rafael, Aysen, Patagonia, Chile. Just another sign of the melting and retraction of the glaciers.

found out when i got home today from work that Rob was laid off-no warning. nothing like coming home to more good news. sorry if i've been slacking on comments, will try to chat with everybody by thursday-tomorrow will be hectic. When it rains, it pours-not sure how much more can be dumped in my lap at this point.
Dinorwic slate mine is a very special place. The history, the stories, the companionship. I was very lucky to visit this place last year, just before the first lock down. I stood next to a friend and looked out from the view point across the valley and was speechless. It's a place that I had seen photos of and heard stories about but it didn't prepare me for the wide range of emotions I got at that view point. You have to be respectful of the area and ultra careful as it's a dangerous place. I can't wait to go back and I hope to visit many more times.

The annual trip to Washington always includes flying over the Cascade Mountains. This trip, the air was crystal clear and Mt. Rainier was out the window!
We will be gone for the next 10 days. While here at my daughter's, I can post a few pictures. After that, I'll just be enjoying yours!
Alaskan bush pilot does a short field take-off and landing along the Chena River. Seen on a riverboat tour of this river in Fairbanks, Alaska.
I often get comments like "poor horses they must be cold in the snow." This is Nevaeh and she just took a roll in the snow and is now shaking the snow off. My best horse images have been in winter as it seems that's when they are the most active. They love the snow!
There would have been perhaps 80 motorcycles at the Launceston Cenotaph for this morning's ANZAC Day Dawn Service. They belong to members of The Vietnam Veterans and Veterans Motor Cycle Club of Tasmania: www.facebook.com/pages/category/Community-Organization/Vi...
After the service these guys have two solid traditions: (1) Have a nip of rum, and then (2) Ride off to the local Returned Services Leagues Club for breakfast together. Here the first three riders make their getaway in the early morning light.
[By the way in this post-dawn light and that speed, even at ISO 2000, I was not going to freeze this action.]
