A male Hooded Merganser showing off for the female with a dramatic headthrow in hopes of impressing her. These ducks are a lot of fun to observe and photograph.

Carolina wrens are small but very vocal animals. Males are especially outgoing and are the only ones to produce songs. They employ one of the loudest songs per volume of birds. They are apt to sing anytime and anyplace they happen to be.

Carolina wrens are monogamous, and breeding pairs may stay together for years.

Hands down the world's coolest/funkiest roll off truck.

With his hat and cane in hand, this statue of Beau Brummell in Jermyn Street is positioned so that he looks down the Piccadilly Arcade

Here I photographed the U.S. Air Forces Thunderbirds as they split off

Misty Fiords, an Alaskan wilderness area administered by the U.S. Forest Service as part of the Tongass National Forest.

Mac and his siblings are some of the sweetest most loving cats we have ever had. It seems that something was transferred from their Mom, Holly, whom we rescued several years back. They were born in our kitchen and are the most people oriented “people” we have ever known!

Thanks guys for your kind comments:) Found this bike in Bremgarten. I actually changed the colour of the wall! Before it was white and uninteresting but yellow seemed to work well.

Sand Pipers, rather jumpy because I got it by accident and only found it later

Roadrunner in the brush

Red Tailed Hawk taking off from a fence post as I was driving down a country road.

Cranes flocking at Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge starting to take off. This is probably the only open water near Roswell NM for 50 miles in any direction.

Ladybird taking off.

Haven't taken a decent ladybird shot for a while, so quite pleased with this one.

Usually it takes hours of trying to get a shot like this, but this one worked first time! :D

The yellow background is just a group of yellow flowers (not been edited)

Dang, the WC was a cool railroad! They had a Fond du Lac to Milwaukee (CP) turn that took the WC to Duplainville then the CP down to Muskego Yard through the plant at Cut Off. Cut Off was where the passenger mains split to go downtown in the shadows of the Milwaukee Shops and the Falk Corp factory. Multiple overpasses in the area made it easy for views of the junction.

On the annual Rasmussen family trip to Milwaukee we had seen the eastbound version roll through Wauwatosa and had ourselves at Cujt Off for the return trip. Light engines might have been a bit of a disappointment, but the big F45 made up for it!

One side of the dragon is blurred, he really was taking off so the speed of wings blurred my picture. At a closer look you can tell the blurr shape its a wing one.

Running a day late due to unloading delays at Chirk (thanks for the info Rich), 60076 heads south past Stokesay Castle with 6V54 to Baglan Bay, South Wales to pick up more logs to make kitchens and the like, Sunday 31.5.15

Logged Off......? It was sunny a few minutes either side of it coming through!

Experimenting with composites.

I couldn't figure out why this Pied-billed Grebe thought he had such a great find that he took off on a water-walking run. It looked like just an empty shell to me.
