The MV Plancius in the distance, manoeuvring through the icebergs, coming to resupply the MV Rembrandt van Rijn, which is anchored off the beach at Cape Hofmann Halvo, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland. There is limited space for supplies in the schooner so the larger expedition ship meets up with the smaller ship to resupply her midway through the trip.

I can’t take my eyes off the green tulip leaves with the great light on it… Then I’ve asked myself: What’s the meaning of green? To me it’s nature & restful energy… Here is what I found from different sources: “Green, the color of life, renewal, nature, and energy, is associated with meanings of growth, harmony, freshness, safety, fertility, and environment. The color green has healing power and is understood to be the most restful and relaxing color for the human eye to view. Green can help enhance vision, stability and endurance. Green takes up more space in the spectrum visible to the human eye and it is the dominant color in the natural. The color green affects us physically and mentally in several different ways. Green is soothing, relaxing, and youthful. Green is a color that helps alleviate anxiety, depression, and nervousness. Green also brings with it a sense of hope, health, adventure, and renewal, as well as self-control, compassion, and harmony” Bourncreative “Since the beginning of time, green has signified growth, rebirth, and fertility. In pagan times, there was the "Green Man" - a symbol of fertility. In Muslim countries, it is a holy color and in Ireland, a lucky color. It was the color of the heavens in the Ming Dynasty.” Colormatters BeNowMeHere, Keukenhof, Lisse, Netherlands, 2015 via 500px ift.tt/21SqnYF

Three men dressed in Mayan costumes climbed an enormous blue pole. One stayed on top beating a drum, and the other two tied ropes around themselves and swung around in circles upside down until they were all the way down to the ground.

This morning after getting a few things done around the house, and then headed out to the woods.
The trails were busier than I like so I ventured off trail and into the woods; luckily I thought ahead and brought my poles with me which made for easier walking and exploring.
Didn't see too much in the way of wild life but I enjoyed being outside for a couple hours. The sun was shining and the wind was mild so being on the trails was much better than hiding inside.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Tourism reaches its nadir in mid-winter Saint John. And 2015 was no ordinary winter around the Maritimes-----record snowfalls all over the place.
Thanks for taking a look at ultrachool's photostream!
This year, Bonnie and Clyde are a pair of cheeky magpies that come to my garden throughout the day to feed and make mischief. When I come downstairs in the morning, they will warble their hearts out in a lovely welcome. Here's Clyde preparing to take off.
The common name for these birds can be confusing. Australian magpies are not Corvids, but in fact belong to family Artamidae. They are more closely related to butcherbirds.

I love coming coming to Indian Head Cove in Bruce Peninsula National Park during off season when there are no summer crowds to contend with. There is no cell phone coverage. No city noise. There is only the sound of the waves in those azure waters with a clarity and color you have to see for yourself. This was taken during a sunny interlude last Sunday and I've quieted the water with a 15 second exposure on a Lee Big Stopper.

Flickr friend, Charles Hardin invited me to tag along to a new location, Jumping Off Rock, in upstate South Carolina. It offers a great view of Lake Jocassee. Coupled with autumn colors and it was a scene that was hard to beat.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I might just try having a digital holiday for a few days to be present in the moment. I could even hug a tree. Yule log off too maybe? Ho ho ho.

2020-21:Scored 22.5 in CAPA Prairie Zone competition: 'The exposure is good and the image is sharp. There are two distractions. The first is the yellow band across the top and the second is the bright area in the left of the water. A crop from the top and the left side plus darkening the water would fix this and make the Sandhill Cranes more prominent.'
This was hilarious. The Mom was trying to lower herself into the water to get baby off. Baby was having nothing to do with this. Eventually, Mom had to breach out of the water to remove the baby.

While out for an early morning walk, I came across this Red-tailed Hawk who looked a bit disheveled. It was plainly clear that she had been fishing in the near by creek as her feathers seemed quite wet. She was drying off while perched on this branch and didn't seem to mind my presence nor the dog's.
