there is a 20 minute window when the sunlight pours into my diningroom and lights up this shelf. i waited for that time today and was rewarded with some amazing shadows and reflections. pretty much SOOC- except for some straightening. blue tint = tungsten setting left on, on purpose this time :)
#ds464 Make a photograph today that illustrates of the act of waiting.

We had a nice summer, but living in Southeast Alaska is almost like living underwater. The first storm of Fall, 2013 has arrived.

After making a photo for my other challenge group I decided to untangle these rubber bands and make a ball with them. This is a really useless way to spend a few hours of your life.
This was at Muffett68's suggestion. Thanks Heidi !!

A lovely place to sit and enjoy the beautiful morning in Galveston, the gentle breeze scented with salt washing over you, waves softly rolling in, sunlight dancing on the water.....ah it was nice and I am so blessed to live close to Galveston and the beaches.

In Round 17 of Get Pushed I have been paired with the wonderful JTsMama.
In her challenge to me she said:
" I would like to see you either re-create or re-do one of your shots to look for one more way to spice it up or change it if you felt something you might have done a little differently. ............ I like that you went back to places (or perhaps captured them in different ways at one time.) and did something a little different. If you so choose you might also just re-edit a shot you feel quite satisfied with to get a new look."
JTsMama gave me suggestions from my stream to work on, both from location shots and of still lifes, including some shots I had taken of glasses.
So I chose to try and improve some refraction shots I attempted last year. See below for the original shot.
For this challenge I used the same decanter but filled it with water to extend the refraction, and, I think, did a better job of placing the lights for less glare.
Thanks for the challenge.
I will keep practicing this.

ODT--Oceanside CA--A place I'd like to visit (again). Love it there. First time I went alone, the second time I took my grandson who lives in Arkansas.

I made this today as a gift for my aunt. I will fill with all kinds of useful little items like post it notes, pen, hand cleaner, kleenex, etc. No elephants though!
Jacqueline Bouvier, later Kennedy, worked for the Washington-Times Herald as "The Inquiring Camera Girl" in 1952. She used this camera to photograph the people she interviewed... now on display in the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.

A little stream running through a local park is almost overcome by the heavy snows that have fallen this year. Its crooked path with the unblemished snow with the dappled shadows caught my eye as I walked past.
