This was such an odd critter. It attracted my attention because it was leg waving - I think the back 2 legs. I tried to get some video but failed. It doesn't seem to fit either of the "bishop's hat hoppers that we have found Ledromorpha or in Ledrinae....will do some note HW.
American Bodyworks fiberglass body, odd rear wheel opening and more 50's Chevy truck grill. I once saw one of these in Oroweat colors outside the Oroweat bakery in Montbello, but with a different grille.

This was a funny posture a mourning dove held for a few seconds--tail straight up in the air! I never saw them do that before.

I have always been curious about this house. Its not abandoned, but its just really odd! There is all that wood work and lots of windows side by side, thats just one of the little oddities of the house. This is the back of the house, the front has this concave corner with lots of rows of windows. I didnt get a pic of the front because it was hidden by a large tree. (Columbia Ca.)
No, I'm not being disrespectful to the Gentleman in the image.
It appears that this re-enactor has modelled himself on the character "Odd-Ball", played by Donald Sutherland in the film "Kelly's Heroes", and indeed, he had the mannerisms and gait to go with the uniform.
Now I wonder where he parked his Sherman tank ?............

This goose is the only goose on the pond and the little male duck is the only duck! We've seen them there before. The duck swims around close to the goose nest and yesterday we stuck around and watched as the male climbed up to the nest. Mom seems very comfortable with his presence. He goes up close to her face and they are bill to bill. Very cute sight!
