The canal was a bit frozen this morning, the ice whipped into odd formations by the wind.

Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery is one of the historic cemeteries at the north end of Canal Street in New Orleans.

Consisting of Renaissance & Exotic Revival architecture, the cemetery opened in 1849, to be the final resting place of local Odd Fellows and their families (if they so chose to be buried here). There was a yellow fever pandemic in the 1850s and the cemetery was open to burials for those who weren't Odd Fellows. The cemetery is currently closed to the public to protect against vandalism (hence the lack of pictures).

One of these four autumn trees is just a LITTLE bit different from the other 3 ... can you spot the "odd one out"? ;-)

From the Dale Chihuly exhibit at Frederik Meijer Gardens this past weekend ...

Caroline looks less than thrilled to be posing with Sebastian. They don't have much in common.

RL things (both errands and fun) kept me out of SL almost entirely yesterday, but I did dive in just before bed to chill out a bit, and TPd over to Tuna Oddfellow's Odd Ball, which takes place in this wild complex of nested megaprims with rotating and flickering textures and sometimes particles. Quite hypnotic! (Larger sizes more impressive.)

Oil storage tanks. My wife spotted the odd one out and found a place to turn back. The woman at the gate couldn't let us in, but this made a nice shot. The black one is new enough that it hasn't been painted yet. (Replacement for the tilted version.)

A Cattle Egret has had enough of the rain and flies away from its perch on a Norfolk Pine. Pretty soon, the others follow. My first sighting of Cattle Egrets at Centennial Park, Sydney so quite happy, even though these were taken from a distance.
