Out of a large group of mallards at the pond, one little duck was different than all the rest. I think it is an immature male wood duck...but I am not an expert. I looked around and did not see any others like him. Hopefully they were hidden somewhere in the reeds and he was not "the odd duck out".

This was such an odd critter. It attracted my attention because it was leg waving - I think the back 2 legs. I tried to get some video but failed. It doesn't seem to fit either of the "bishop's hat hoppers that we have found Ledromorpha or in Ledrinae....will do some note HW.

It appears that this re-enactor has modelled himself on the character "Odd-Ball", played by Donald Sutherland in the film "Kelly's Heroes", and indeed, he had the mannerisms and gait to go with the uniform.

Now I wonder where he parked his Sherman tank ?............
