The former Odd Fellows Lodge in Phoenix, New York. A recent renovation added those unfortunate mirrored windows but at least you can see a reflection of equipment getting the lock ready for the boating season and my car.
A giraffe licking a stone wall while another watches in the background. Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago, IL.
Out of a large group of mallards at the pond, one little duck was different than all the rest. I think it is an immature male wood duck...but I am not an expert. I looked around and did not see any others like him. Hopefully they were hidden somewhere in the reeds and he was not "the odd duck out".

Day Five was a busy one and generated lots of shots. These are from early morning snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay. My advice..do it from a boat....the 1/3 mile swim to get to the coral was exhausting. Somhow underwater shots taking while just on lung power seem more satisfying. Hopefully you'll think the shots were worth it too. An odd trio here of Yellow Tang, Trumpetfish, and a little Wrasse.
In Apex, NC at the intersection of HWY 55 and Old US 1. Kind of caught my eye, have no idea what is once was or is in the process of becoming. Just kind of neat lil building.
Awhile ago this was at Great Lakes Marina, then it disappeared, now it has reappeared at Torreson's, a mile up the road.
A row of bicycles I found in Savannah, GA. Even cyclists must feel the need to be "individuals" sometimes, I guess.
June Monthly Scavenger Hunt Entry - "Odd Man Out"
K&WVR's platforms pretty much deserted after 5820 had left. Enough to pass the time until the next train was due to arrive with a working turntable being a highlight. A Platform 4 seemed odd but just to the right are Platforms 1 and 2 which are on the main network serving Leeds and Skipton - the lines under the bridge connect to the network which allows guest locos to arrive under their own steam. Also the two clocks are mismatched but one is the actual time and the other indicates the next departure time.
I like to drive. Sometimes I see strange things. Sometimes they frighten me. Sometimes they confuse me. But I keep driving.....keep moving. Sometimes there is the temptation to get out of the car......to interact with this odd world but I think not....

UP 5469 heads east into Blair for an ethanol pickup with an NS motor trailing. For whatever reason, the crew elected to have the NS 7567's lights on and ditch lights flashing the whole way to Blair from Fremont despite it trailing.

These cacti were at an abandoned museum and visitor's center on the Gila River Indian Community. I think this facility was replaced by the new facilty further north near the Wild Horse Casino and Resort. As you can see from the single saguaro, it appears that they are now under a bit of stress. The one is a bit oddly shaped.
At this site (outside) are some plaques commerating a WW II Japanese Internment Camp that was built on the Community. This was done without the permission of the Community. The Camp was run from 1942 through 1945. The Indian Community filed claims against the Government for violating their rights in 1971 and was awarded damages in 1976.
