For this shot I used a yongnuo 560 III speedlite with a 30 inch octabox; I held a white reflector under the model to fill in the shadows. You can actually see myself in the catch lights.

As promised, more for Ceerius Apparel! I'm really happy with how this one came out, which has been kind of rare lately.. Gotta make a mental note to get out to fresh locations more often.
Let me know what you think!

Meet my new model. She has never stand model before but acted as if she's never done anything else. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Zach and I combined all our bees together and came up with these. We've been talking about playing with the "Jill Greenberg" look for a while, and finally just went for it, even though we were shy a couple strobes and a ring flash. But I think it came out pretty good. :)
Yes, I'm a creep.
Feedback is greatly appreciated!

It's been a while since I shot an actual self portrait in a semi serious manner and played with the light and tried to shape it the way I wanted it. I used to do this a lot more, but got away from it for some reason. When I first started playing with strobes I was impressed and inspired by Regina Pagles and her amazing portrait work, and this photo is a riff on her technique / set up. Sadly she is no longer doing portraits, or at least isn't posting them here.
