Had the opportunity to observe a pair of great tits bringing in food for their freshly hatched baby birds. It's an exhausting labor done by both the male and the female and it goes on for hours on a day.
They provided strictly proteins and it was not longer than 2-3 minutes between raids. Every single one being a success and ending with yet another insect dropped into the nest.
Observed at a construction site in Calgary. Similar to nearly identical features can be seen in natural/wilderness settings (e.g., near riverbanks).

The only poultry Bella cares about is in her food bowl.

This place shows me light. Even when things get stressful it has allowed me to take my time and to not overthink. As the title says observe the positives. You can either view this picture as lonely or you can see it as a getaway! But, that's up to you.

Nene Park - I was crouching down to take some wildflower photos when I was joined by this Grey squirrel bounding along the path towards me (1). It came a bit closer watched me for a moment or two, then instinct set in and it was off... (2).
Going out at the hottest time of a summer day sure takes courage, but the blue skies make it always worth the effort.
-
Today I returned to a spot where I recently found some brown argus and icarus blue butterflies flying around.
-
Unfortunately most of them seemed to have stayed home except for this one brown argus butterfly, the size of a coin.

Grand prix HARDY
111 e Exposition de la SPAQ
(Société des Photographes Artisans de Québec)
----------------------------------------
THE WEIGHT OF THE RAIN
Grand Prix HARDY
111 th Exhibition of the SPAQ
(Societe des Photographes Artisans de Quebec)
Near Jiufen in Taiwan, the rain surprised us, like many. There are three different reactions to the arrival of rain: A person takes out his umbrella and takes shelter, another protects his head from his coat and a third balances himself and is wetted by water as if from Nothing was. My personal reaction was to take out my camera to immortalize the scene. The rain heavier the trees and accentuates the reflections of the pavement that lead us towards the characters.

I was very fortunate to observe and photograph this owl in Northern California in February. There are estimated to be fewer than 100 nesting pairs remaining in the state.
Read the draft document "Conservation Strategy for Great Gray Owls in California" for details on a plan to preserve these magnificent predators.
