Experimenting with object function on paper. [Sept 14]

Refering to my previous post... this is how it looks like now, after a whole tube of SUPER glue.....

An iconic object to me is an object that is admired - a film reel. As an artist, I find my memory to be nothing short of a camera roll. The film reel running through each image, wrapping itself around the subject, with no point of origin or end in sight establishes a theme of memory. This way, I am looking back at my life through the film reel like snapshots. This triptych describes the various deep layers of one’s psyche and how it frames their identity.A person’s psyche is made up of different elements like: innate experiences, emotions, and internal stimuli. I have featured moments that connect my subconscious to my identity. Each panel is painted in different sizes to convey that when time is passing, old memories become distorted and new ones are built.

Innate experience: I chose to paint my home because it is a comforting environment from my life and has always been a constant.

Internal Stimuli: I decided to paint food because it makes me feel content and happy. It motivates me to do better in life.

Emotions: I have done a still life of ‘ghunghroo’ and ‘alta’ . I chose these objects because I have spent a large portion of my life learning and performing ‘Kathak’, it stimulated happiness and promoted confidence for me.
