Cloudy conditions led me to shoot using the monochrome setting on my camera. Then, I used Nikon software to maintain the camera's monochrome style. A few tweaks in NX Studio, but, basically, what I saw in my viewfinder at the time.
I have found that after shooting brick walls to test lenses, I have grown fond of brick walls as subjects.

I have been starting out my processing in NXStudio these days. There, I can choose whatever Nikon picture control I want. In this case, I chose two. I edited just a bit primarily to deepen the foreground shadows. In some cases, silhouettes are the natural result of shooting a contrasty scene and one wants to keep them as is. In others, the shadows are not so deep and one enhances them to hide unsightly foreground features. A little bit of both here.
Planning a trip is great. But, it must allow for my love of wandering, letting my sense of where I am decide what to do next.
I learned from reprocessing this image in color that the fellow on the left's shirt is actually blue! The only shot I processed in color earlier had him so deep in the shadows that it appeared black.
