My first attempt at food photography.
Did this for an assignment in my commercial photography class. I'd never worked with food before, wasn't sure what to expect, but I think I did a good job for my first attempt.
Lighting: Home-made soft box and reflector.
Macro shots with crappy optics: a rare, film-era Sigma 180mm 1:2.8 APO Macro with haze-coated elements.
at a cafe and camera shop in Okinawa "monkey on the moon" where I was much longing for.

I sat and watched this juvenile for ages hoping that he would move to a perch for a more natural shot but he is just nuts about nuts and feasted for ages.
OK, I don't get the idea of Truck Nutz... fine. People can have fake balls hanging off of their vehicles if they want. Free country and all. But... why in the hell would someone want blue balls?
For the traditional method of raw sop nuts in a wash bag, I suspect it will be many years before this is addressed in an owner's manual. (Or at least until Electrolux gets their prototype beyond the drawing board phase.)

Smuzka brings a jug of caramel to put in the cooking pot! The apples will be put on a stick, dipped in the pot of hot caramel, and then decorated! Kormika Chipmunk has brought chopped nuts to roll the caramel apples in - the men folk have all planned very carefully to make sure the Candy Apple table is a big success!
