These were on one of the native plants growing in our backyard. They are Bottlebrush seed capsules! (Thanks Maruchan313 for the identification) I just liked the texture and shape of them.

Kerala, God's own, is famous for, amongst other things, the innumerable coconut trees lining the roads, adorning the shores, the sea and bearing the coconuts. I have always loved the taste of coconut in sweets, chutneys and just like that, especially the water - so yummy :) And though I still haven't mastered the art of breaking open a coconut exactly into halves by the sheer kinetic force of the coconut striking the ground, I still am nuts over them. Loved the vivid colors with the sun shining on the dehusked ones here.

Macadamia nuts are not picked from the tree but are fully ripened when they fall and are then harvested.
Tough nut to crack: it takes 300 lbs. per square inch to break the macadamia nut shell, hardest of all nut shells.
Macadamia nuts are high in monounsaturated fatty acid (“good” fat) and have been demonstrated to help reduce overall cholesterol levels.
I saw a similar image by Hannah Coombes and was inspired to have a try. Some nuts and washers were to hand in my toolbox......
This is a volume rendering of a bag of nuts that I subjected to a CT scan.
You can see almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, and cashews inside an outline of the bag along with the three orthogonal MPR views.

From archives..... Not sure about the hindi name, but the background white part is used to make platform for making chapathi / poori etc.

Found a new use for my Frame Jig: Nut storage. Some critter was storing nuts. Not going to be happy about this. I was tacking this frame when I had to rotate the jig in the stand to get at some low points. As I'm rotating it, there's this mad rush of marbles noise coming from inside the jig... 52 Nut pick up.
