SC #4 Find some really big, heavy-duty nuts or bolts (think "construction").

This proved to be quite challenging. I ended up picking this it's from a guardrail along the xway. It actually is the biggest one I could locate, I was a little disappointed I was unable to emphasize it's actual size. Tried coins but just couldn't capture the comparison very well, so this is it!

No, this fellow apparently had a stash in the recently placed mulch! I couldn't believe it when he started digging into the side of the pile and came out with...something;) He did this several times which allowed me to get the camera on him/her;)

General McAuliffe was the 101st Airborne Division Artillery Commander. When General Taylor was absent for the Bastogne campaign because he had to attend a meeting in the USA. McAuliffe then had to take his place.

He is famous for saying the reply "Nuts to the Germans when they asked for the surrender of the 101st Airborne Division. The Germans didn't understand the reply, so the Americans said in a different way, "go to hell."

McAuliffe was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for his command of the 101st at Bastogne.

He commanded the Division until Taylor returned.

The town square is now named in his memory and there is a statue of him there.

We bought a 400g pack of frozen ginkgo nuts that we had never tried before. I can't remember how much they were, perhaps AUD5.

The problem was that almost half the nuts were a bit green, which, according to mum, will taste bad. Sure enough, I did a test between them and the green ones tasted bitter and horrid. It left a plastic-y aftertaste in my mouth.

The rest of the yellow ginkgo nuts tasted ok, but lacked much ginkgo flavour either.

Served up by an enthusiastic duo, the "Nuts of Wonder" came flying off the grill filled with sweet cheese and an unexpected bite. The sliced baguette is fried in butter, brown sugar, and crushed almonds with a filling of brie, goat cheese, spiced dates and Nutella. But what was that bite lingering in the back of the throat? Horseradish cheddar!

An amazing wall of bolts, nuts & screws. Organized by size and type, then labeled by hand. Everything is a bit rusty, but this only adds to the charm. This is all slightly more functional than Home Depot.

Nuts! My oak trees were crazy this year. I'm sure they were last year as well, but for some reason I noticed it more this year. Sometimes it sounded like someone was walking on the roof, there were so many acorns falling.
